‘This Is a Tragedy in the Family’: @Belle_Knox’s Horrible Disgrace

Army physician Dr. Kevin Weeks returns home from deployment in Afghanistan to learn that his youngest daughter Miriam has become notorious as the Duke University porn star “Belle Knox”:
Amanda Minor, the mother-in-law of Miriam’s brother Paul, told MailOnline: ‘This is a tragedy in the family. The father is one of the best human beings I’ve ever met. He is just back from Afghanistan; he served his country, how awesome is that?
‘He’s so proud of his daughter; there’s no way they could have known this was going on. It’s terrible. . . . This is a nightmare what the family are going through.’ . . .
You can read the whole embarrassing thing.
Remember that this is what the freshman Women’s Studies major calls “empowerment.” Miriam Weeks probably feels extra empowered now that both the New York Post and NewsMax are also on the story.

Prayers to Mary Magdalene on her behalf.

Just remember that Jenna Jameson was the one woman in all of porn world that people lauded for getting out of that vicious cycle of losers for marriage and train wrecks of careers. I remember seeing her “mainstream” back when MSNBC was mainstream cable news station being talked of as the future empowering women in the industry. In that she had gained “positive” control of her image that combined with her building of the first Internet mainstream pay-per-view porn hub she was some to admire. The talk then was of her walking away from the acting side to do the CEO thing. The reality is much different and as you skim both her book and her Wikipedia page you see that if it wasn’t for the fact that she is in porn, Jameson would be in a section 8 house and be one of those women looking for a new friend of the week at your favorite trashy dive bar.
So the question goes back to what RSM asked which was basically has porn empowered any of the women in it and had them rise above their stations in life?

Both books by Gerrie Lim about the escort business in Singapore are very interesting (Invisible Trade and Invisible Trade II). Primarily because when one looks at Singapore (and by extension most of the rest of Asia) has these rules flightagainst hookers and escorts. Yet, they exist there and the high priced ones are the Ozzies, Kiwis, South Africans (either white or black), and any American that either meets up with the Ginger or Mary Anne or California Beach Girl look. Again there was a story of two Ozzies girls that made enough in a year shuttling between Singapore, HK, Japan and Singapore to pay for all a couple of semesters at MBA program at Sydney University. They got their degrees and walked away from escorting but the 9-5 and working for a quarter of their monthly escort wages; brought them back into the business. There was the story of an American flight Attendant who flew all over Asia and at each stop over she would become a high price call girl to do everything from accompany Asian or Western Businessman to parties or just provide a warm body to keep the cold of hotel beds away was too lucrative and it was how she was able to keep her kids in a high cost boarding school after husband lost his job in the Dot Com kaboom. Really changed my view of who hooks and who escorts and their reasons why.

You mean, she might gain some MORE. But she could do that by keeping the nude scenes and just eating more bacon.

That guy is what’s known as a suitcase pimp. An absolute bottom-feeder.

When the porn chick Savannah killed herself at age 23, she already looked 40. Ms. Weeks is trading on her notoriety, and when that’s gone she will only have a few months left in that business.

Welcome home Daddy.
Oh, by the way, I’m a whore.
March 12th, 2014 @ 3:13 am
I have a feeling she eats bacon.

The Charlie Sheen types are out there.

Those attempts to hide one’s identity worked fairly well until the age of the high-megapixel video camera/phone. Between those easily concealable devices and the millions of security cameras out there (which soon will all have high-def as well, so no more blurry, grainy security footage), the age of secrecy is fast coming to an end.

I have a 55 gallon barrel of muriatic acid at the plant; would that help?

And that’s the point: the lovely Miss Weeks actions have had an impact on her family as well as herself. Miss Weeks might not have reached the bottom of the canyon yet, but for her family, they’ve already slammed into it.
March 12th, 2014 @ 7:46 am
I’d say that, in Miss Weeks’ case, her vices are her rights: she has an absolute right to copulate with any adult she chooses, and she has a right to have it filmed, and I believe that she has a right to do it for money. (Re; prostitution laws, I fail to see how it can be illegal to do something for money that is completely legal to do for free.)
But she also has an absolute right to be just plain stupid, a right she seems to have exercised, and other people have an absolute right to consider her actions in their treatment of her.
March 12th, 2014 @ 7:52 am
Well, maybe not, but it will depend on a huge attitude change from her, first. She has some hard life lessons to learn — namely that a porn career and Women’s Studies degree from Duke qualifies you to work as a cashier at Seven-Eleven — but if she learns them before she gets too jaded and too fouled up on drugs, she could recover to a respectable, quiet life. Change her name, change her appearance, and change schools, and she might have a chance.

Getting past the whole he said/she said, one has to wonder how the parents thought she was going to be able to pay the tuition.
March 12th, 2014 @ 9:23 am
No, not at all: now she can do the Backdoor Duke Coeds movies!
March 12th, 2014 @ 10:00 am
Duke may be quite supportive now, but wait until the trademark infringement lawyers jump on any Duke-themed films distributed without paying a license fee.
March 12th, 2014 @ 10:54 am
Certainly a possibility. I just don’t immediately buy that a guy who the only confirmed fact I have is that his daughter is a porn star is a upright sort of guy. Maybe he is, but I certainly don’t know that.

“I guess we’ll be seeing a lot more college girl porn stars, drug
dealers, and young women looking for sugar daddies to pay their freight.”
Barack Hussein’s America sure is an ugly place for the youngest, isn’t it?
Embrace your suck.
March 12th, 2014 @ 7:51 pm
Agreed.
As if thrown from the back of a pickup truck.
No control over their daughter’s course of action yet bearing the full brunt of it.
