Drive-by in a BMW:

Santa Barbara County Sheriff Bill Brown revealed new details about Friday night’s drive by shootings in Isla Vista during a Saturday morning news conference, including a new death toll and a possible link to an ominous YouTube video.
Brown said the initial call came in to dispatch at 9:27 p.m. Friday night as multiple gunshots.
Deputies in the area found several victims and received information about the suspect and vehicle involved.
Witnesses described seeing a black BMW speeding through the streets, spraying bullets at people and various targets near El Embarcadero and Segovia Roads and the top of the loop along Del Playa.
Brown said at 9:33 p.m. the suspect exchanged gunfire with deputies then veered down Del Playa and crashed into a parked car. Deputies found the suspect inside the BMW dead from a gunshot wound to the head. Brown said he did not know if the suspect was shot and killed by deputies or if the wound was self-inflicted.

A weirdo killer with a weirdo motive:

Investigators believe a 22-year-old named Elliot Rodger driving a black BMW acted alone in the shootings around 9:30pm Friday night in Isla Vista near the University of California, Santa Barbara. . . .
Rodger is thought to be the son of Peter Rodger, assistant director of the Hollywood film franchise The Hunger Games.
Authorities are examining a video posted on social media by the shooter in which he rants about women who supposedly rejected his advances.
The video is called Elliot Rodger’s Retribution.
Rodger, a Santa Barbara City College Student and Isla Vista resident, according to his social media accounts unleashed a tirade about his ‘loneliness, rejection, and unfulfilled desires,’ and blames women for preferring ‘obnoxious brutes’ to him, ‘the supreme gentlemen.’ . . .
‘I’m 22 years old and I’m still a virgin. I’ve never even kissed a girl,’ he says in the video.
‘College is the time when everyone experiences those things such as sex and fun and pleasure. But in those years I’ve had to rot in loneliness. It’s not fair. You girls have never been attracted to me. I don’t know why you girls aren’t attracted to me. But I will punish you all for it,’ he says in the video, which runs to almost seven minutes.
He repeatedly promises to ‘punish’ women and lays out his plan for ‘retribution.’
‘I’m going to enter the hottest sorority house of UCSB and I will slaughter every single spoilt, stuck-up, blonde [slut] that I see inside there. All those girls that I’ve desired so much, they would’ve all rejected me and looked down on me as an inferior man if I ever made a sexual advance towards them,’ he says.
‘I’ll take great pleasure in slaughtering all of you. You will finally see that I am, in truth, the superior one. The true alpha male,’ he laughs like a maniacal movie villain. ‘Yes… After I have annihilated every single girl in the sorority house I will take to the streets of Isla Vista and slay every single person I see there. All those popular kids who live such lives of hedonistic pleasure…’

This attitude is a typical “Nice Guy” rationalization by which losers project onto others the responsibility for their own failures, so that successful men are scapegoated as “obnoxious brutes” and women who reject the Nice Guy are condemned as “sluts.”

At the root of the “Nice Guy” rationalization is a narcissistic blindness to his own shortcomings and a sense of entitlement to female companionship. He cannot admit (especially to himself) that his own resentments are actually motivated by envy, nor that his rage against women is a type of “sour grapes” rationalization: Frustrated desire expressed as rejection of those who reject him.

There isn’t really a political aspect to this kind of maladjustment although, as with every mass shooting, the Left is trying to play “pin the tail on the right wing,” and conservatives are pushing back:

The guy was a screwed up deranged jerk. I know this may brand my age a little, but what about parental responsibility, even if Roger was something like 22. When a family member that age is some sort of addict, normal families try to step in and get help. He was disturbed. Why weren’t his parents trying to get psych help for him? When can we start holding parents responsible for the actions of their off-spring even when they are so-called adults. If it is true that this generation doesn’t truly mature until they are in their late 20s, then let’s start applying various rules of society, including forcing parents to deal with the little monsters they’ve created.

Many, if not most, of the recent acts of domestic terrorism have been committed by blacks and mulattoes. A few examples:

    – Floyd Corkins
    – Chris Dorner
    – Mohammed Whitaker
    – John Muhammed
    – Lee Boyd Malvo
    – Aaron Alexis

Not to mention the fact that 80% of gun violence is perpetrated by young black males.

Where there is poverty and hopelessless (sic) there will be crime. That’s just stupid. Where’s that Appalachia crime wave at, Einstein? Do you always wear your bigotry on your sleeve?A very disturbed kid goes on a killing spree and you find that cause to vent your hate of white men? Get help.

You go above and beyond if you are a parent. I’ve known too many who did just that, including an acquaintance who made (where she lived) the local cops lives miserable until they helped her deal with a daughter who was schizophrenic. She did this while also dealing with a spouse who had a serious head injury – and on a limited income. When you have a child (no matter what age) who is apparently a danger to themselves and others, you don’t quit. Just calling the cops was not enough. If a person is talking suicide, you get them into a treatment program. The parents could afford it. If nothing else, they don’t leave the person alone.

One of the problems with our society today is the fact that we refuse to take responsibility for people in lives who are seriously disturbed, or need help. The far right says that there are gov’t programs and people should take responsibility for themselves. The far left says there are programs for this. It’s a great excuse for no one wanting to get involved. I can say this because I’ve basically given up my life to care for my elderly parents. My father has Alzheimer’s and my mother has a cardiac condition. That’s what you do, even when it becomes an economic & social hardship, which it is for me.

    We are our brother’s keeper.

Girl power. Girls rule. Girls rock. Take your daughters to work. Boys are icky, throw rocks at them. A womans place is in the house (and the senate). A women needs a man like a goldfish needs a bicyle. If we can put one man on the moon why can’t we put them all there. And on and on and on and on….

Add mental illness and a gun and you have tragedy. What a world we’ve created.
