No, Actually, You Don’t

So I was 3,000 words into a book chapter about feminism and took a break. Someone called my attention to this:

“girls want sex just as much as guys do, we’re just taught
that we should be ashamed of it rather than proud.”

Don’t know who the original source is for this asinine claim, but it’s been shared nearly 60,000 times on Tumblr, which tells me that many young fools actually believe this dangerous nonsense.

There is abundant research about the differences in male and female sex drives, even if ordinary common sense did not tell us so.

Long before scientists were able to demonstrate the influence of testosterone in male sexual behavior, the greater urgency of male sex drive was widely understood as a fact of human nature. Only the egalitarian ideology of feminism could cause anyone to believe that “girls want sex just as much as guys do.” This is simply not true, as anyone might discover if they cared about scientific evidence or, alternatively, if they would bother asking males about it.

Really, let any man recall how it was to be a teenage boy, caught in the overpowering grasp of that adolescent testosterone surge. Every teenage boy is a potential crime wave and only the most stringent discipline and social restraints can prevent him from running completely amok, wreaking havoc as a result of his chaotic impulses.

Feminists have spent so long trying to convince us males and females are “equal” — meaning that they are basically the same — that some people have apparently begun to believe this is really true, but it’s not. Anyone who makes feminism the basis of their choices is in for a rude awakening the first time they encounter the reality of human nature.

“A Lesbian Theory of the Penis” — that’s the best way to understand feminist beliefs about male sexuality. They begin by excluding from consideration anything a normal man might tell them about sex, and next exclude anything normal women might tell them about male sexual behavior, so that in the end what feminists claim to “know” about men and sex is just lesbian propaganda. Asking a feminist for advice about men is like asking a Nazi for advice on how to get along with Jews.

Stacy, with all due respect, you’re both right & wrong with this. The sex drive in women is very very strong, but it is different in its focus and purpose.

It’s a cliche — but as many are, it holds a kernel of truth — men give love to get sex, women give sex to get love.

As mercenary as that sounds, it is one of the truisms of adolescence … boys, as you pointed out, are flooded with a powerful hormone that makes them want to have sex with as many partners as can be convinced to saying “yes.” Girls are likewise going through powerful hormone changes that makes them want to have one special partner to bond with. They can devote inordinate amounts of time into securing a steady boyfriend – especially one of “status”.

Nature is pretty powerful in setting the stage for further propagation of the species and God gives us the brains to live up to standards to tame & guide that nature for our own and future generation’s benefits.

    Yeah, lose the word ‘potential.’

Um, no. It’s unremarkable for youths to have some tangential contact with crime – drug use, disorderly conduct, vandalism, DUI. Unremarkable does not mean ‘universal’ or even ‘modal’. The share of young men who involve themselves in crimes serious enough to track in federal statistical compilations (e.g. car theft) is modest (5-6%).

Depends on the dispositions of the youngsters involved. The function of the father is multifaceted and that particular function does not necessarily address what is missing in the sons.

Most men want numerous “hot” women with no constraints.

Over 100 in a year or two?

Their focus on base motivators like sex is because they have no higher purpose in life. It’s the rat, pushing the button wired into its pleasure centers until it starves to death.

Oh I’d sex was still going on, but the culture in those countries of separating sex from pro-creation plus looking at children as a mere luxury item maybe not worth the time & effort has had a profound effect.

    I agree.

A very wise woman once told me that romance is the price men pay for sex and sex is the price woman pay for romance.

The declining birth rate, the “demographic crisis” is quite severe in those nanny state nations that vigorously incentivise child-birth… Curious, that!

It’s a politicized fetish, and we all know where that comes from. The very people who decry supremacy show all the hallmarks of it and get away with it in the public arena by hiding within old anti-oppression movements. The same is true of race. That’s why a rag like The Atlantic can host a flat out racist and portray it as observation of social justice and insightful wisdom. It is a con game by an ideology with a deep antipathy towards whites, men and heterosexuals. The entire affair is a neo-Nazi-like cult that comes at you with talk of allergies to scented products and wheel-chair access while using the feral rhetoric of the worst sort of bigots.

Maybe. I’d started living with a woman when I was 20 so our paths had diverged and we’d never done that when we hung out anyway. This was his claim, but every time I saw him outside a bar he was with a different really good-looking woman. All of us who had grown up with him couldn’t figure out how he did it or when he’d started making actual numerical goals he strived for. A mutual childhood friend of us both who went out with him confirmed his success. It all seemed silly to me and not at all like the guy I’d grown up with. If you saw him you might understand why low self-esteem drove him. But he made up for it in spades with a remarkably funny and outgoing personality that worked its magic on women. He was in a fairly long relationship with a woman when we were teenagers and got in a permanent one right after his 2 year spree and raised a family with her for years. They were crazy years and I’ll tell you right out not many involved in that larger gang of kids made it into adulthood with their minds and freedom intact.

    Dana speaks the truth.
Divorced at 43, I couldn’t believe how many hungry single women were out there and ready to go.
I remember thinking that I should’ve divorced my wife much sooner.

It’s not that women don’t have a sex drive, it’s that their sex drive is far different than a man’s and they differ more and more as they get older.

Yes, exactly. The entire premise of feminism is that men and women are different. But, then basic premise violates the notion of equality, which then leads to all kinds of mental gymnastics…
