This morning, I quoted a young Canadian feminist blogger who denounced “Islamophobia” as racial prejudice and “baseless hatred” that causes “the suffering of countless victims.” Meanwhile, there is this breaking news:

Two New York City women inspired by ISIS were arrested Thursday for allegedly plotting to set off a bomb, authorities said.
Noelle Velentzas, 28, and Asia Siddiqui, 31, allegedly conspired to prepare an explosive device they planned to detonate in a terror attack in the U.S., according to court documents.
Velentzas and Siddiqui were roommates from Queens. They are expected to appear in federal court in Brooklyn later Thursday afternoon. . . .
“Arrests were made by the JTTF and the NYPD in a national security investigation early this morning in New York City,” John Miller of the NYPD said.

A “phobia” is by definition an irrational fear, but there is nothing irrational about the fear inspired by Muslim violence.

    “Islamophobia” is another construct foisted upon us by Marxists, with the aid of the media, academics, celebrities and appointed/elected officials who have either embraced Islam or dhimmitude.

    A less irrational world would call it “self-defense”, “counterattacking”, or in general “securing our liberty and freedoms”.

    In the shipping industry, we have to constantly train and retrain on hazardous materials guidelines and marking labels.

    But really, most haz-mats are peaceful and moderate. It’s only a tiny minority that leak and poison someone.

    Actually, while socially conscious Westerners solemnly lecture us on the heinous sins of Islamophobia, the world’s Muslims are making a good faith effort to kill each other off. These earnest scolds ought to address their moralizing to ISIS and Boko Haram.

    Almost (but not quite) OT: Robert Tracinski demolishes Michael Tomasky, E.J. Dionne, and Charles Blow in “Indiana Shows the Left Has No Concept of Freedom.” The headline over-states the case — the civil libertarians are a counter-example — but it is certainly true of the professional left and a disturbing amount of enthusiastic amateurs. The Dhimmicrats have been captured by the mind control of political correctness to the point that most can’t even think straight.

    I’m posting this here because I’ve been pondering a connection with their suicidal alliance with Islam, which in every respect treats their other constituents far worse than even their bizarre caricature of Christianity, let alone the real thing. I think that once they put Muslims in the “oppressed minority” box in their heads, they literally can’t even think a criticism before their programming kicks in and bzzz, click: hatey hate!     They have an irrational belief in some sort of Rousseau-style goodness of man rubbish, and so imagine that everything bad people do is just a result of their upbringing or society. So, if Muslim extremists go around murdering people, clearly that’s just because of society. If we were all nicer to them/gave them more money, they’d stop being so mean and we could all just sing Kumbaya round the campfire together.
