Why Is @Nero Being Ignored by Mainstream Media?

Posted on | June 16, 2016 | 50 Comments

“Most of this talk would have got me arrested in Europe.”
Milo Yiannopoulos in Orlando, June 15, 2016

Milo Yiannopoulos (@nero on Twitter) has emerged in the past two years as one of the most controversial figures in New Media. When he appears on college campuses, students erupt in riotous protests. So where are the profile features by the New York Times, Esquire, Vanity Fair, GQ? Where is the TV news coverage of Milo’s campus speaking tour? Why isn’t Milo being interviewed by Stephen Colbert or Anderson Cooper?

The news industry seems intent on pretending Milo does not exist.

This is called “no platforming” — effectively marginalizing opposition to progressivism by denying opponents access to audiences. This practice has been used, for example, to prevent Christians from defending their faith against atheists, to prevent pro-lifers from debating abortion advocates, and to marginalize critics of global warming theory. In recent years, radical feminists who oppose the transgender cult have been “no platformed” by the National Union of Students in Great Britain.

On Wednesday, Milo was briefly suspended from Twitter — where he has 300,000 followers — on the same day he gave a news conference at the site of the massacre in Orlando. Milo is a very “out” homosexual, and you might suppose that his appearance at the Pulse nightclub would be considered newsworthy, except for three minor problems:

  1. Milo is pro-Second Amendment.
  2. Milo is pro-Donald Trump;
    and
  3. Milo is warning about the danger of radical Islam.

He is an un-person, from the perspective of the New York Times, CNN and other propaganda organs of the Democrat Party.

Video of Milo’s press conference (skip to the 12-minute mark):

You see why the media is determined to ignore Milo. The Left’s worldview requires not only the exclusion of facts and logic, but also the exclusion of people who don’t fit the stereotypes of the Left’s opponents.

UPDATE: The latest headline via Memeorandum:

Milo Yiannopoulos Slams Twitter
For Being ‘Sharia-Compliant,’
Credits Drudge With Reinstatement

The mainstream media will nevertheless ignore this.

The other side of the coin is that Taylor Swift has been called out by her supporters because she did not issue a statement of condolences (or condemnation or anything else) about the Orlando event. You will be made to care. One is forced to offer condolences to gays. The same luxury is not offered to other categories of people.

Would I be incorrect in calling this political faction the Regressives rather than the Progressives? I would think to be progressive all arguments would be allowed at the “table”?

The “elite” thinkers have become morally bankrupt and with the Saudi investment in media that they cannot stand against the regime. Their paycheck and lifestyle depends on how they perform. The media is now a reflection of the Saudi government. This bankrupt view is from self-hatred that Harvard has been grinding into the US since the Vietnam war. Whether this viewpoint is old Cold War infiltration by the Communists or not, it needs investigation.

As far as Christianity, the influence of the Berrigan brothers and the corruptive influence of televangelism has been a big game-changer in how society fits in Christianity. The sexual perversion that seems to run rampent through all the sects has made any hope that Christian leaders have the moral upper hand at this time difficult.

Thank you for asking these hard questions.

Because he is defying, if not outright breaking, the narrative, and that makes him an inconvenient and dangerous faggot. Therefore he must be destroyed.

If only the media was run by Saudis, we would not have homo superpower all over the place. Or could it be that the saudis want us to be destroyed by homosexuality, this is why they favour it everywhere else outside their Kingdom?

?acknowledge but not celebrate (ABNC) – This grew out of my birthday calendar. I don’t celebrate birthdays myself, but birthdays are important to the people around me. I should at least keep track. Then it spread to other holidays that I do not celebrate. Finally I realized it was an important idea in and of itself. I could accept the guy across the street was gay, but I didn’t have to celebrate his homosexuality. I could have a Mormon relative, but I do not have to practice his faith.?

This is reason the elites are desperately trying to figure out a way to regulate the “New Media” out of existence. Most people get their news and information online. The New Media is an alternative to the MSM echo chamber and defies the coastal elite’s attempts to be the sole arbiter of the approved narrative. Thus, it must be destroyed. Twitter’s “Trust & Safety” Council is only the first “baby step” in this direction. Expect ever greater attempts to get government involved through the passage of hidden authorizations and legislation giving agencies like the FCC, FDA and EPA among others authority to control information “for the public’s good,” of course.

Milo is fabulous. I’d have gone to Orlando to see him if I hadn’t had a job interview (the very definition of an unbreakable appointment).

He has awesome hair and can get away with wearing pink ties. If I’d been there, I’d be squeeing like a fangirl. It would’ve been pathetic, come to think.

He’s subject to say pretty much anything, randomly. Normally, he’d be a media darling, except the progressive media doesn’t tolerate free speech except for themselves. As in, Anderson Cooper telling Pam Bondi she’s not allowed to mourn tragically slaughtered citizens because she doesn’t worship at the LGBT alter. That’s ok, but evidently nothing Milo says is ok. [eyeroll]

I finished Inventing Freedom a little more than a month ago and a volume of the Churchill biography a couple of weeks ago. The summer solstice is coming up and that always makes me think of Stonehenge.

Plus it’s a cool word that makes people stop and think.

I’m surprised you didn’t say anything about drek, considering it’s usual translation.

Seriously though, it’s one of those words that gives all sorts of satisfaction when you say it loudly.

I’m weird, I don’t usually use profanity when I swear.

There was an example that Stephen King used in Danse Macabre. It was a lady saying “Oh sh*t! I stepped in doggie doo-doo!”

    Totally missed the point.

I understand as a governor she has duties and she is the governor of all floridians, however, offering condolences is polite, mourning is something more, so I would have offered condolences but that’s it. The whole leftist gay spectrum would like to see us in concentration camps North korea style for thinking that a child deserves a mother and a father and marriage and family are referred only to man+woman+children so why even bother? How many times have you seen a gay person saying he is sorry for christians murdered in the middle east? The vitriol of the past few days was a deal breaker. I am mourning more about dead tigers in a lousy animal sanctuary in Thailand than about 50 latinos in Orlando that have no problem with christians being wiped out of the middle east.

So, you know that the people killed in Orlando had something to do with the persecution of Christian bakers, photographers, florists, etc.? Or are you blaming an entire group for the actions of some? So all Christians are likewise to blame for the words and actions of Westboro Baptist Church?

Besides, I can take some persecution, because I’m going to be glorified. Unbelievers, by common grace, have only this short period of time on earth to be happy, so I don’t begrudge them, and I’m sad when they’re deprived of it.

“Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.” (Matthew 5:11-12).

“So all Christians are likewise to blame for the words and actions of Westboro Baptist Church?”
We are already in a permanent state of affairs, wether you like it or not, wether you acknowledge it or not (and also replace christians with whites, heterosexuals, males, republican, conservative and you would get the same result), why not return the same?
Due to my job I had to study the Learning processes of adults: among all methods (see, listen) the one that guarantees the highest return is kinestetic ( = experience). Nobody can say he has fully learned unless he experience the same. I strongly believe leftists (and gays) are uncapable of Learning anything new because they never had to stay in the shoes of a White, christian, hetersexual, republican and conservative.
So this is where my reasoning comes from. They need to experience shunning and ostracism to be able to understand ours. And plus, you quoted yourself that Bondi’s mourning brought her scorn and disapproval. I knew it was going to end this way since for them it looked like an exercise in vanity

Why would Democrat lawyers hate gay people? Democrat lawyers worship gay people, as far as I’ve ever seen. But I do agree with the “they’re no more a Christian church than…” part.

Doesn’t matter either way, though. If people widely believe they are actual Christians, then my point is still made that their actions taint legitimate Christians in the eyes of foolish people.
