Al Franken and Christine O’Donnell on Bill Maher Show? MUST-SEE TV!

Posted on | September 20, 2010 | 26 Comments

You know you gotta watch it:

BTW, another of Maher’s guests on that 1997 show is also now running for Congress: Star Parker in California’s 37th District.

Of course, the obvious question is, why are all these RINO-hugging “experts” telling us that Christine O’Donnell isn’t “electable” as a senator — but Al Franken is?

UPDATE: Transcribed a little of this. Maher begins — where else? — with, “Speaking of sex . . .” He then talks about the Welfare Reform Act of 1996 (signed into law by that notoriously puritanical right-winger, Bill Clinton), and its provision of $250 million for sex education that teaches that “sex outside marriage is likely to have harmful psychological and physical effects.”

Now, this is another one of those situations — like Rachel Maddow’s sneer about O’Donnell’s anti-masturbation statements — where liberals think that all they have to do is roll their eyes sarcastically. Any claim about sex that contradicts liberalism, they apparently believe, is self-evidently ludicrous. O’Donnell dared to defend what liberals think is indefensible:

“Morality aside . . . look at it from a health issue. Twelve thousand teenagers a day are contracting sexually transmitted diseases. AIDS is very quickly becoming the number-one killer among teenagers. . . . So, we know how to prevent AIDS. We know how to prevent sexually transmitted diseases: Don’t have sex.”

Star Parker and O’Donnell were in solidarity on this issue, while the white males on the show — Maher, Franken and Ricky Schroeder — were all about “safe sex.” Yet the fact they want to ignore is this: There is no such thing as “safe sex”!

It’s a myth. Short of surgical sterilization, there is no fool-proof method of contraception. All contraceptive methods have what is called a “failure rate,” and even with a contraceptive that is 99% effective, that 1% failure rate can translate to thousands of unwanted pregnancies a year, if hundreds of thousands of people are using that product. And people who think they’re “safe” are obviously more likely to have sex with people with whom they don’t want to make babies.

This is why the widespread acceptance of contraception in American society has gone hand-in-hand with the rise of abortion — more than a million a year for the past 35 years, despite all the sex education, despite TV ads for condoms and birth-control pills, despite everything.

OK, so what about disease? Again, while the use of condoms can reduce the risk of contracting sexually-transmitted diseases, condoms cannot eliminate that risk. And for many STDs — including such serious diseases as herpes, chlamydia and HPV (genital warts) — using a condom may provide little or no protection.

This is simply a fact, and excuse the need for a bit of anatomical detail: Suppose that a woman has a herpes lesion somewhere on her vulva. During intercourse, will a condom cover every part of a man’s penis that might make contact with that lesion? And if everybody’s using condoms, isn’t it likely that a man who has herpes is most likely to develop lesions on the area of his penis (i.e., the base of the shaft) not covered by a condom?

Keep in mind, we’re not talking hypotheticals here. One in six Americans are now infected with genital herpes and — like so many consequences of the “Cultural Revolution” — women and minorities have been affected the worst:

Black women had the highest rate of infection at 48 percent and women were nearly twice likely as men to be infected, according to an analysis by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
About 21 percent of women were infected with genital herpes, compared to only 11.5 percent of men, while 39 percent of blacks were infected compared to about 12 percent for whites, the CDC said.

Are you paying attention? Nearly half of black women in the United States are now infected with this incurable disease.

Thank you, liberal America!

Our sophisticated and enlightened elites can snark and sneer all they want, but the facts are on Christine O’Donnell’s side of the argument.

CHRISTINE O’DONNELL for U.S. SENATE

why are all these RINO-hugging “experts” telling us that Christine O’Donnell isn’t “electable” as a senator — but Al Franken is?

Because Franken is very smart and Christine O’Donnell is not. It took her a total of 23 years to get her college diploma and that only after her college sued her to pay her tuition. It won. She paid them 8 years later.

Clearly, Rick Schroeder needs to get with the program and run for Congress!

Rick Schroeder is a conservative, BTW. So I would welcome it if he ran.

As for Al Franken “winning”* (remember he assaulted Medved at some radio show in Minnesota), how about the fact that Christine O’Donnell is running for the seat vacated by Joe “Make a gaff, make them laugh” Biden?

    *he cheated.

Franken didn’t win anything, as Joe notes @ #3, and he most certainly is not qualified for the Senate except by the bare essentials, and his residency was questionable.

However it doesn’t speak much for either Parker or O’Donnell that they would go on Maher’s show.

    Estragon,

I will humbly submit to you that, as far as the pundit shows go, Politically Incorrect back-in-the-day was pretty reasonable. Bill only started going certifiable when ABC cancelled his show after comments he made about the “bravery” of the 19 hijackers. A cancellation which certain folks in Conservatism, Inc (I’m talking to you, Brent Bozell) had some hand in forcing.

If I were Christine, I’d tell Bill Maher to release everything he’s got. It’s only going to make her more of a star.

Under oath “I am going to say this again: “I do not have sex with that women(er, technically)”; The alleged premeditated drowning of his own secretary after a sex party; dapped in cocaine, ACORN community organizer, God-dammed American, Black Panther theology. Oh, his personal morality view and his own private life has no bearing to his job performance and public policy, not a political career ending factor, need I say more?

Same old, same old time-worn mug-sling playbook of the left to tar the conservatives : Sarah Palin’s family violent, pending divorce, frivolous lawsuits, Nicky Haley`s marriage infidelity, Sharon Angle’s scientology view, Scott Brown’s Cosmo center fold, and now Christine O’Donelle. Who cares! ordinary folks are more concerned with bread-and-butter, 1-in-10 unemployment, record deficit burgeoning national debt government tax-and-spent to country into insolvency, Obamacare premium hike, and of the paramoint, the collective salvation from a fiscally and constitutionally run amack big government.

Comedian talkshow and political satire are fair games left and right, we all love good jokes but Maher and CBS marginally seem to have crossed the line with blackmail and malicious intent to sabotage a conservative political candidate. For Christ sake, what a teenager did decades ago disqualify her/him from running public office? Did they also cover her conversion to Christianity? Oh, the media ridicule her for her Christian faith? Can’t have it both ways.

HE said: Let those who is without sin among you be the first to throw the stone“; they left, quietly, one by one. Good that she cancelled out CBS , best if all conservative politicians do likewise to the state GE controlled outlet. Big Climate Change (now Global Climate Disruption-Obaman modern translation) has reached a critical mass among the independent, conservative, the right and the center-left. Austro-turf teaport tempest voters anger is now Tsunami wave in reality . Let Bill Maher, CBS, Rove ,or any establishments, politico pundits, be the first to throw the stone. Ordinary tea baggers folks will simply turn the channel, tune out the stale pathetic clown who himself looks like a witch, and the result ,major consumer market are pissed off enough and turn off the network as they continue to stoke the flame of voter anger in their furnace, call it play with fire. A politically correct marketing strategy and consumer business acumen for self demise.

Rove needs to explain his relevancy to GOP, still think tea party movement is a poot. He is obviously in the wrong quarter providing talking point to the left.

If there are any indications on the downward trending of mainstream media loosing viewership market share, viewers leaving cable network TV news in droves, Drudge Report: “Broadcast Evening Newscasts Lose More than 1 Million Viewers in Past Year”. http://www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/evening_news_ratings/broadcast_evening_newscasts_lose_more_than_1_million_viewers_in_past_year_166058.asp

Tea party movement critical mass has and will further drastically alter media environment climate.

A right-on-the-money observation from Taiwanese News Animation on the analysis Wall Street Journal vs. New York Times, Media Tycoon Rupert Murdoch v.s Junior Pinch Sulzberger. A starkcomparison of business model catering to the political-right vs. political-left viewership market segment. Foxnews is thriving quantum leap while the rest of the cable network TV news are shrinking in decline due to political content they offer to their target audience. Other Foxnews’ element of success, genius business decision were the landing of “good-as-gold” million-buck bonanza winning tickets, Glenn beck from CNN and VP candidate, who can each reach and rally millions in a heart beat, while the left news media have no such counter weight. (Beck’s wee finger is heavier than the whole body weight of hardball, softball, countup, countdown and tatoo-in-the-bud combined).

My question is when is Pawlenty going to hear about the results of the Felons voting for Frankin that gave him the Senate seat.If those votes are taken away because they weren’t allowed to vote then Coleman would still be the Senator and several of the bills passed by the Democtars wouldn’t have passed.
