Obama’s Down. Can GOP Put Him Out?

Nevertheless, Obama must try the impossible:

Having spent two decades in the pews of Reverend Wright’s church listening to the Hate America Gospel, President Zero is perhaps not familiar with the actual Bible. He therefore may not catch the near-sacrilegious resemblance between his sermon in Raleigh and Christ’s charge to His disciples: “If ye love me, keep my commandments.”

Everyone raised as a Christian will, however, recognize the hint of blasphemy in this spontaneous expression of Obama’s fundmental narcissism, and the cultic implications in the shouted adoration from his liberal flock. It’s a wonder they didn’t cover his path to Raleigh with palm fronds, or bring the blind and deaf to the rally, hoping to be healed by touching his garments. And I don’t doubt many talk-radio hosts will make the most of all that, as well they should.

Nevertheless, talk is just talk and what we need now is action to maximize the strategic momentum gained by Tuesday’s triumph. Congressional Republicans should seize the initiative on two fronts:

Relentlessly expose the Solyndra scandal — The shocking revelations of this dirty deal should be front-and-center in every argument about the administration’s economic policy. Congressional investigators now have under scrutiny a textbook example of the kind of corrupt insider favoritism that the Democrats’ stimulus spending spree made possible. GOP presidential candidates can help maximize the impact of exposure by making Solyndra the focus of their attacks on the incumbent’s policy agenda. We ought to hear the phrase “Solyndra scandal” in every stump speech, every press release and every Republican debate. And I’d love to see some 30-second TV ads on this subject, if not from the indvidual presidential GOP campaigns, then from Reince Priebus’s RNC. (C’mon, Reince: You could raise millions on this issue.)
Beat Obama with his own trick — Obama says “pass this bill” knowing full well that House Republicans won’t even let it out of committee. It’s dead on arrival, and Obama’s pushing it as the first move in a chess game that he intends to end by campaigning next year against a “do-nothing” Republican Congress. (The Harry Truman playbook from 1948.) Ergo, do something: Let the House GOP ram through a blanket six-month payroll tax holiday — reductions in payroll taxes being a key component of Obama’s own plan — without any amendments or attachments. “A clean bill,” as they say, presenting Harry Reid’s Senate Democrats with an up-or-down choice on providing an economic boost through tax relief for tens of millions of American workers. Let Republican senators then demand that the House bill be brought to a vote, and if Reid refuses to act, then accuse Democrats of being liars: They say they want to boost the economy, help the middle class and create jobs, but when they have a chance to do something, the Democrats really want to play politics.

If this political hardball forces Reid to bring the Payroll Tax Holiday to a vote, it would pass by an overwhelming margin, because there are 20 Democrat senators up for re-election next year and they’d be fools to vote against such a bill. And would Obama dare to veto it? Hell, no.

Let Boehner’s GOP majority ram that bill through the House, then, and they’ll destroy Obama’s pass-this-bill chess strategy in one move. Once everybody gets their payroll tax break, Republicans will be able to say they have indeed “done something” to boost the economy, and will relieve any political pressure to pass anything remotely like Obama’s silly American Jobs Act.

And making it a six-month payroll tax holiday? That’s the real genius of it. Should Boehner and Mitch McConnell manage to get this proposal enacted this fall, they would set up another vote next spring on whether to extend the payroll tax holiday. The political battlefield would be shifted. Instead of Democrats on the offense with demands for more spending, they’d be playing defense, trying to explain why they’re against cutting taxes.

Fresh off their historic victory of September 13th, Republicans need to move aggressively and rapidly against the liberal agenda, heeding the wisest maxims of strategy:

“Always mystify, mislead, and surprise the enemy, if possible; and when you strike and overcome him, never let up in the pursuit so long as your men have strength to follow; for an army routed, if hotly pursued, becomes panic-stricken, and can then be destroyed by half their number. The other rule is, never fight against heavy odds, if by any possible maneuvering you can hurl your own force on only a part, and that the weakest part, of your enemy and crush it. Such tactics will win every time, and a small army may thus destroy a large one in detail, and repeated victory will make it invincible.”

Or, to quote Da Tech Guy‘s favorite Yankee general: “Ride right through them — they’re demoralized as hell!”

Two ideas:

Along with Solyndra, push Fast&Furious – with plenty of pics of Terry and his family.

Obama has one ploy he can use to de-link the GOP: start talking about how bad the economy truly is and why the GOP just can’t give up pork and patronage. Most folks, especially Dems, can remember what they were doing this morning, so that tack will work well.

Rand Paul is submitting a bill if he hasn’t already, did a good job at a presser saying “pass this bill now” “c’mon Harry Reid help us out here”. Given enough attention I don’t see how Harry can say no lets wait for zero’s bill.

As for Raleigh there may areas that might greet Obama with palm fronds and Wake the Capitol County has 8.2% up .2% from July 2010 the state average went up to 10.3% as of July 2011. Note that all his last few jobs speeches are given on campuses and everyone in that venue went after tickets to be there.
As for obie’s delusions of deification, what’s new. North Carolina has alot more reason to vote Obama out than we had to reelect Burr last year. If you go to the link below you’ll see why. I’m in Johnston due SE of Wake. If you put your cursor over each county you’ll see the current rate, and that most counties have gone up.
