I cannot believe this. #BrettKimberlin‘s associates have now literally gone after my family. Prayers please.

Ace of Spades: National Day of Blogger Silence — This Friday
On Friday, this site will be absolutely dead-silent, which is what Brett Kimberlin and his stalker crew seeks, and what the media and our supposed Representatives in Congress would permit.
The only post on Friday will be a bold-faced Open Letter to Congress, urging them to act and not attempt to pass the buck to others.
They are our representatives; we would like some representation.
They vowed to defend and protect the Constitution; they can honor that vow now.
I will post links of Congressmen’s and Senator’s email addresses and offices and phone numbers, and urge every concerned American citizen to let them know, in no uncertain terms, that a crime in progress against the First Amendment (and people’s safety) is occurring, and we humbly request they take this seriously.
They are literally going to get someone killed. That is their endgame here.
Will the media and Congress pretend “we didn’t know” when this happens?
ABCNews knows.
The Weekly Standard knows.
The Daily Caller knows.
And many, but not yet all, Congressmen and Senators know.
This blog will (likely) follow Ace’s lead. I’m sure my Congressman will listen to a polite petition. He could surprise me and take action, too. That hope exists.
Update: linked at The Daley Gator
Update II: More at American Power. Furthermore, Stacy spoke to Ali and got this quote:
“World War Three.”
The nature of the offense is that the allegedly Brett Kimberlin-linked site “Breitbart Unmasked” (no linky love for these clowns) apparently thought it was cool to post photos of the location of some family members of Ali.
Now, I have not ever seen Ali in an other-than-gentlemanly mode. I shall strive to keep it that way.
Update III: linked at The Camp of the Saints
Update IV: linked at The Conservatory, Da Tech Guy, and The Lonely Conservative. Plus reporting at Twitchy.
Update V: linkage from The Fellowship of the Perpetually Aggrieved, hogewash, Ameryx le Gallois, Conservative Hideout, and The Rio Norte Line.

I would guess he was also singled out because through discovery, they can now find out the names and addresses of contributors to Aaron’s defense.
BTW. There’s talk about a “Day of Silence” because of this.
Someone tell me how when trying to spread the word about a miscreant’s actions, silence is the best plan?
Silence or boycott only works if those you are targetting CARE.
Think the Congress or Democrats CARE if some bloggers’ don’t blog? I doubt it seriously.
This is misplaced zeal and frankly stupid thinking or unthinking.
The best move is to INCREASE one’s efforts in exposure and anyone who thinks otherwise is living in a personal dream world that has no relation to the real one.

Did Ace just get on the intertubes YESTERDAY? Any fool knows not to click a link unless it is someone you trust, and even then don’t click if there is any unusual about the message or post. I get emails and DMs all the time from people whose accounts have been spammed or spoofed or hijacked by a trojan somehow. I just notify them and NEVER click it.
Also, never click a shortened link from tinyURL or redo unless you trust the poster and the form is normal for that person.
Breitbart Unmasked did not just invent malicious links, folks.
Is this some kind of news? Ace has had all sorts of bad links in comments FOREVER, but all of a sudden he is soiling his breeches over it?

Good advice! You can ALSO select “private browsing” or “anonymous browsing” in your browser menu and THEN use Anonymous.org.
I don’t care if those freaks come to me, I’m well prepared and we know how to deal with problems down here. So does local law enforcement.

You say “tomato,” I say “saddle up,” what’s the big deal? We’ll iron on those little details on the road, and offline.

[…] More Attempted Intimidation Posted on 5 June, 2012 by wjjhoge Brietbart Unmasked, a web site associated with Brett Kimberlin and Company, has published what looks like an attempt to intimidate blogger Ali Akbar and his family. What EXACTLY do you chowderheads expect Congress to do?
They can’t pass a budget resolution, but the “Dark Blog Day Bill” sails thru both House and Senate and is signed by Obama and enforced by Holder?
What would this law SAY, exactly, IF you could get it passed, which you cannot?
You boys need to lay off the sauce. If you ever need a lawyer, here’s a hot tip: find one smarter than Ace.
June 5th, 2012 @ 12:20 am
See, that’s the sort of thing that makes sense.

No, it’s not news.
But people DO get complacent, and they DO need reminders about operational security.
And, yes, people are stupid. There’s a reason why phishing is still around.
So Ace is entirely reasonable to post that. As I was in relaying it. I speak professionally, Adjoran.
And if I may offer some personal advice? Scolding in these conditions is of limited value. And doing so often erodes credibility.
June 5th, 2012 @ 12:37 am
Yes, thank you. I’ve bookmarked that.

Congressional action is limited, mostly in the sense that the Executive Branch is (theoretically) accountable to the Legislative Branch when it comes to how appropriations are used.
That’s the real power of Congress, that of the purse strings, according to the Constitution. They set the tax revenues, and how they are disbursed. Even with the current budget f**k up, this holds true. Continuing resolutions still must be resolved. Other appropriations are still being made. They have *some* leverage, even the assholes in the Administration are doing their best to render Congress useless.
Oh, and the direct influence of any given Congresscritter depends on their party, seniority, and what committees they are on. Think Issa versus a freshman Tea Partier.
That said, there’s nothing wrong with writing them as long as the request focuses on the money side of it. Ace suggested complaining about their charity status, and that’s a reasonable approach. Request that they inquire about Kimberlin’s deductible charity status. Success on that route is more likely than passing yet another law that is enforced at the whim of some bureaucrat in the law enforcement community.

He’s also currently running as an Independant for a U.S. Senate seat. Hmmmm……carrying a lot of convicted bomber baggage isn’t going to get him very far.

Looks like the left is content to go All-Kimberlin-All-The-Time. I was just at Doug Ross’ site, and he’s linked this bit of nastiness fished out of the mail by Ann Althouse.

Adj is just being Adj, Jeff.
Most people go to a tattoo parlor and get ‘Mom’ or something tattooed on them; Adj got a single strand of hair tattooed across his arse.
But we love the guy.

This will be solved by the exact same method that is used to solve a severe case of playground bullying, by applying the bully’s methods against the bully. Nothing else is going to work.

Going silent is so Eisenhower; we need to be Pattonesque at all times.
L’audace, l’audace, toujours de l’audace!
Rogues, would you live forever?
June 5th, 2012 @ 8:09 am
Of course, there is only one possible response to your comment Bob:
-WOLVERINES!
June 5th, 2012 @ 8:17 am
Quite true, Stacy, but his answer to that good question is not going to be effective.
The Republican members of the Congress and their staffs will not notice such an act – they’re too busy to know or care. Most of them hold us in contempt to begin with and buy into the idea that we sit around in our pajamas ranting and raving.
Besides, do we want the national government getting involved in any Internet issues. No, or course not. There are, it seems to me, only two things we want the Congress to do: (1) investigate the federally-regulated non-profits and (2) spread the word when they are on TV and radio.
Our goal, since we have to be very suspicious of putting our fates in the hand of the courts [considering what we’ve seen in Maryland, which is far too typical, believe me], has to be to shine so much light on these Leftist thugs that we permanently blind the bastards.
I like Ace, but he can seems to be unable sometimes to stop thinking like a member of the Establishment. The old rules no longer apply. This is Total War [the Left sure as Hell is fighting it that way].
The toughest goal for us is to figure out how to fight the Immoral Left without we, ourselves, losing our souls in the process, like so many in The West did during World War II.
June 5th, 2012 @ 8:22 am
Exactly. Corruption spreads best in darkness, mold thrives there. All con-artists desire anonymity, to remain in the murky shadows where the graft is good and the bribes are few. No publicity, no “sunshine”, no hard accountability questions from the folks back home …
June 5th, 2012 @ 8:27 am
So…I guess if anyone of us ever described Zeese’s actions as ‘half-baked’, we’d automatically be right.

It’s been awhile since I’ve emailed Renee Ellmers, once I determined her hearing was no better than Bob Etheridge’s I deleted whatever form I had to use which was tied to her newsletter. At any rate non of our congress critters are likely to be in DC on any given Friday to not read our E-mails.

The point you are missing is that it is, in fact, a day of action, not blogging.
Think the Congress or Democrats READ any of these bloggers, anyway?
Clearly more blogging isn’t going to make much difference, since we’ve already seen a major effort there, and you can’t beat Stacy’s, Patterico’s, and several others’ coverage by rewording it and retweeting it and linking it again.
June 5th, 2012 @ 5:29 pm
Agreed. This makes as much sense as holding “Blog About Speedway Bomber Brett Kimberlin” on a Friday.
For crying out loud, people, if you’re looking for some attention why are you doing this on Friday? Do the words “Friday document dump” not mean anything to you?
