After the shrieking tantrum Rep. Haley Stevens threw on the floor of the House of Representatives today, I would have thought that congressional Democrats — you know, the ones who wasted a week delaying passage of this emergency legislation — could not do worse. But of course, I had forgotten about Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez:

Calling the measure “shameful,” Ocasio-Cortez accused Senate Republicans of fighting for “greed” and “one of the largest corporate bailouts with as few strings as possible in American history.”
“The greed of that fight is wrong, for crumbs for our families,” Ocasio-Cortez continued, arguing that the Senate’s bill had put her in an impossible position with no good options.
“The option that we have is to either let them suffer with nothing or to allow this greed and billions of dollars which will be leveraged into trillions of dollars to contribute to the largest income inequality gap in our future,” she explained.
“There should be shame about what was fought for in this bill, choices that we have to make,” Ocasio-Cortez concluded, warning, “Our community’s reality is this country’s future if we don’t do anything.”

What she calls “crumbs” is a payment of $3,400 for a family of four. Considering that the median U.S. household income is $63,688, that’s less than three weeks’ income, but it will help to pay rent and utilities for families thrown out of work because of shutdowns caused by coronavirus. As to “corporate bailouts,” what does she think will happen to workers if their employers go out of business? While I consider federal bailouts to be a bad idea, generally, there is certainly no more “greed” behind this legislation than was involved in various swindles pushed through Congress and signed into law by President Obama when Democrats ran the whole D.C. show in 2009-2010. But I digress . . .

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is a bad person, and everyone who voted Democrat in 2018 is responsible for the influence this idiot has in Congress. That’s how political parties function, you see — every vote for any political party helps to empower the worst elements of that party. There are Republicans I find obnoxious, and deplore their influence in our public affairs, but when you compare the two parties, why does it seem the Democrats have a monopoly on dangerous idiots like the arm-waving, finger-pointing Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez?

What does it say about the people of New York’s 14th District that they chose this irresponsible child to represent them in Congress? It is never wise to wish ill on people, and certainly it’s not Christian, but when I see Rep. Ocasio-Cortez declaring that her district is among the communities hardest hit by the Wuhan virus outbreak, it causes me to wonder if something like divine wrath might help explain this pandemic.

As I say, it’s un-Christian to think this way, as we are commanded to pray even for our enemies, but if indeed Jehovah was displeased by the elevation of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to Congress, then perhaps this plague was intended to cause New Yorkers to repent their sins.

Did I mention that one thing Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was angry about was that this bill didn’t include payments for illegal aliens?

Don’t vote Democrat. Never never never never vote Democrat.

The 11th District of Michigan is a so-called “swing” district. For most of the past half-century, this district in the suburbs of Detroit has been represented in Congress by Republicans. Rep. Thad McCotter was the congressman there until 2012, and Republicans Kerry Bentivolio and Dave Trott later filled the seat, but after Trott announced his retirement in 2018, former Obama administration staffer Haley Stevens won a hotly contested five-way Democratic primary, then got 51.8% of the vote in the November general election. It should be unnecessary to say that Stevens’ seat is a prime target for Republicans seeking to recapture control of the House of Representatives this fall. And the argument against re-electing Stevens became obvious Friday morning when she freaked out and started shrieking like a deranged lunatic on the floor of the House:

Wearing pink latex gloves, U.S. Rep. Haley Stevens, D-Rochester Hills, was ruled out of order during a Friday speech on the House floor about the $2.2 trillion relief package to help workers and businesses in response to the coronavirus outbreak.
Stevens’ speech started out normally. Then, as she ran out of her allotted time of one minute, she began shouting her remarks, requested 30 more seconds and mentioned the gloves she was wearing.
Stevens yelled she was wearing the gloves “not for personal attention.” The individual running the Democratic-controlled House proceedings repeatedly struck his gavel.
“I rise before you adorning these latex gloves not for personal attention, not for personal attention but to encourage you to take this disease seriously,” Stevens said. “I rise for every American who is scared right now.”
“The gentle lady is out of order,” said Rep. Anthony Brown, D-Maryland, who was presiding over the chamber for the debate.
Eventually, Stevens was granted 30 more seconds to speak at the request of House Majority Leader U.S. Rep. Steny Hoyer, D-Maryland. Stevens continued but some of what she said was indecipherable because of the commotion on the floor.She appeared to say medical professionals would be “pushed” and would see “darkness.”
“Our country loves you to our doctors and our nurses,” Stevens continued
The freshman lawmaker added that she wore the gloves “to tell every American not to be afraid.”
Stevens was eventually ruled out of order. Her microphone was cut, and Brown’s gavel rang out repeatedly.
“The gentle lady from Michigan is no longer recognized,” Brown said.

If you live in the 11th District of Michigan, please vote Republican, so that Haley Stevens can get the psychiatric treatment she needs. People who vote Democrat have turned Congress into a lunatic asylum.

OK, I think you might recognize this guy. The reason why I didn’t promote my appearance Thursday night on The Ingraham Angle in advance was because the way cable news “hits” are scheduled, you never know if you’re actually going to be on until it happens. Like, this had been planned for a day or so — calls and emails back and forth with the producers — but appearances sometimes get “bumped,” and I didn’t want to hype it up if, in fact, it wasn’t going to happen. Then by the time I was (reasonably) sure I’d be doing it, I was trying to get ready and, while I was waiting to go on, they pushed back the segment by about two minutes. This was because they were running a little behind schedule, so you’ll see that my spot got cut kind of short. But anyway . . .

As a TV personality, I’m slightly more coherent than Joe Biden, I suppose, but I’m a writer, not a talker. Whatever — my kids and my wife were proud of me, and that’s what really counts. Alas, I didn’t get a chance to say The Five Most Important Words in the English Language:

Joe Biden is the presumed presidential nominee of the Democratic Party. He is also 77 years old and unable to speak coherently:

Presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden spent the past two days conducting blunder-filled TV interviews from his home — and a virtual press briefing Wednesday where he said he doesn’t want to debate Bernie Sanders anymore.
“Do you think there should be another debate in April, and would you participate?” Biden was asked during his remote press conference.
“My focus is just dealing with this crisis right now. I haven’t thought about any more debates,” Biden said. “I think we’ve had enough debates. I think we should get on with this.”
The briefing followed a media blitz on Tuesday during which the gaffe-prone former vice president lived up to his reputation.
“We have to take care of the cure. That will make the problem worse no matter what. No matter what,” Biden said on ABC’s “The View” when asked to respond to President Trump’s desire to restart the economy amid the coronavirus outbreak.
Biden went on to discuss “flattening the curve.”
“We know you have to — you’re tired of hearing the phrase, you got to flatten that curve where it’s going up like this, people getting it, and then it comes down. We got to flatten that curve and we got to make sure that once, in fact, we have this under control, it doesn’t come back,” he sputtered.
Speaking a few hours later with Jake Tapper on CNN, Biden was criticized for coughing into his hand just moments after telling the host that he had not been tested for coronavirus because he was feeling OK.

It is difficult to describe how badly Biden performed in these appearances, where he got nothing but softball questions, yet repeatedly failed to express himself without stumbling. The elderly Democrat also kept coughing on camera, suggesting his health may be precarious.
