Theft is Theft is Theft

Fortune smile on Judd Gregg. Given a Sophist in the shape of Orzag, Gregg is cuts through the intellectual fog with the simple truth:The bad news for Gregg and the rest of the Americans is that, tweaking O’Rourke slightly, giving TARP and power to government is like giving whiskey and car keys to teenage boys.

The time for acting shocked about the graft and corruption was over some time ago. The time to ask what the Tea Party will do as a result of our slow-motion come-to-Beavis meeting is coming. It needs to involve scaling back the Federal beast.

What is not theft, however, is supporting the Shoe Leather Reporting Fund, AKA the Tip Jar.  The stream of reporting excellence from Alabama should commence Real Soon Now.

It seems that not having to run for re-election
has freed Judd Gregg to use his spine again.
About time. Better late than never, I guess.

When confronted with the facts of the law defining how the repaid TARP funds are to be used, Orzag barely bats an eye, responding that the Obama administration intends to change the law(?!).

Clearly changing the game as you go along is the motus operandi of these power to the state government types, but usually they are a tad more circumspect in declaring it.

    What are we coming to?

    “What are we coming to?”

    Wrong tense, right sentiment.

It’s: “What have we come to.” Unfortch.
