‘I Don’t Know What Their Motivation Is’

Jon Stewart has show occasional glimmers of intelligence. So, ~3:45, when the discussion turns to those vile, obstructionist Republicans, Stewart doesn’t grasp their motivation.

Perhaps Stewart thinks all of the Constitutional ire is disingenious. One can agree that, for the RINO set, the whole point of the GOP may be to replace D with R on all of the Congressional Committee chairs.

That suspicion is borne out in the fact that the Hoffmans and Rubios and other Tea Party candidates, who represent actual Americans, and are not just apparatchiks, are very slowly gaining ground against the establishment tools.

So, perhaps one can come to a form of agreement with Stewart: at the Michael Steele level, the GOP motives are a trifle ambiguous. There is still too much Progressivism afoot, too little commitment to the Constitution, Federalism, and limited government.

In contrast with Stewart, the ambiguity isn’t just an excuse to punt, and continue with the Progressive deconstruction of the country. No, it’s an excuse to double down on principle, and hold these GOP weenies to their stated goals.

I saw the interview, Smitty, and it was obvious that Stewart’s knowledge of the Right has all come from reading the Leftist fantasy version of our story.

Also, the boy, like Conan, is JUST NOT FUNNY.

Damn, I was hoping you would say hold these weenies to the fire, which is where they need to be held. If they can’t stand the heat of the conservative fire maybe they should get out of the political crucible. mpw

That is because Stewart is like a “C” student when it comes to cutting through the political bs and for having street smarts. But give him time and keep encouraging him to do so. The party in power should be the party getting the butt of the jokes.
