Give Nancy A ‘Palomino’, And For CA-8, John Dennis

The Vodkapundit provides your title imagery, as the 111th Congress heads into the slumpstretch, and we get down to the grunt work of electing a Congress that isn’t a pile of road apples.

Birch, at Right-O-Sphere, points to a crucial race: John Dennis, going against the woman who, in a sense, represents all of us:
It’s amazing how fresh and prophetic Kristen Wiig’s November 2006 cold open on SNL is, when compared to the Wicked Witch of the West’s track record. Fred Armisen’s “human ashtray” character symbolizes the gimpy feeling so many of the Country Class have experienced since Nancy’s ascension.

Birch’s reasoning for feeling Bullish on Dennis is impeccable:

  1. Nancy Pelosi still doesn’t have a campaign staff.
  2. Nancy Pelosi is disliked even in her own district.
  3. John Dennis has $820K and is self-financed.
  4. The Tea Party movement dictates anti-incumbency.
  5. Republican voters are more likely to vote this year than Democrats.
  6. John Dennis is reaching out to the art and the LBGT community of San Francisco.
  7. Google Trends shows John Dennis being a very popular search in the San Francisco area.
  8. Let’s pull another Scott Brown.
  9. John Dennis loves the free market.
  10. John Dennis is against federal funding of abortion.

PJTV had a fine feature on the fellow, too.

I, for one, salute the courage of a John Dennis, who is willing to invest his time in what can only be called a tough race. Supporting my own local candidate today at a farmer’s market, it simply isn’t a pleasure to have people not simply reject a friendly, positive greeting, but do it in a way that says “You really are scum to question your betters.”

Forget Nancy, and the palomino she rode in on.

Update: No Sheeples ‘Lanche!

BTW, the joke of the day is John Dennis winning 50.1% to 49.9% and Nancy Pelosi asking for a recount in SAN FRANCISCO!

    GG,
Wait till November. Heck, maybe you could be her first campaign volunteer.

Nancy needs all the help she can get, she shouldn’t take anything for granted like you are GG.

    ???
Do you even know how to use Google Trends?

Use the ‘”‘ and voila! You put “John Dennis” and you get better data. San Francisco beats out Boston. I bet you didn’t know their is a conservative talk show in Boston run by John Dennis of Boston.

I bet the next thing you’ll tell is that you know what SABR is. Go back to school, GG.

@ Gigi: Nancy not having a campaign staff demonstrates confidence or maybe complacency. Or perhaps arrogance leads her to take things like the people in her district for granted. She is a nasty pitiful excuse for a human. I assume you’re familiar with the concept of Karma. The fact that anyone is interested in her opponent should make one go hmmmmm. The fact that you don’t dislike her only proves how little you know about her.
I’d be shocked if she lost her reelection on the other hand watching her give that gavel to John Boehner has it’s rewards also.

California primary was in early June…You failed at grasping the point again. Late October and Early November trending are going to be the next important time period.

October is when…’politicians’ get their ads out. For all I know, John Dennis is planning a blitztrieg rather than a war of attrition media campaign.

In the interest of proper gambling etiquette I believe it’s customary for someone to hold the gambled money I am offering my services.
Gigi I don’t know what rightblog sites you were haunting last January but I don’t recall reading you that long ago. Making comparisons between Scott Brown and Dennis as Google stats simple don’t work. Late last December the rumor that there was a minuscule chance of some unknown Republican taking Ted Kennedy’s vacant seat. The idea was the long shot of long shots but just the idea inspired thousands all over the country and the right blogs lite up. I don’t recall hearing any thing about Google stats.

Your basic premise when your not engaged with Rob in pointless arguments about how to use Google trends. A much better statistical indicator of Dennis’s weakness would be the lack of a posted poll at RCP. But there is something in the air here this election cycle. Something I doubt can be sensed from India. Even in a liberal bastion such as SF people get tired of being ruled rather than being represented. While to those of us on the right Pelosi has managed to do a good bit of damage this congress, some of her constituents expected more. If their disappointed enough to sit this one out…anything is possible.

    Gigi,
Wait till November or at least till the next poll as Adobe Walls so aptly pointed out. Right now though John Dennis has a lot of things going in his favor to pull of a surprise. Consider this though, IF John Dennis wins, he’ll be the first Republican to represent San Francisco in over 60 years.

    GG,
It’s fun debating you. I got optimistic “impeccable reasoning”. We will see in November what the deal is with the California 8th District.

At minimum this will be a very interesting race with Nancy Pelosi being away from the district for most of August and September. I can’t wait for the next poll of the district.

Also Nancy Pelosi participating in a cooking show, is somewhat similar to that J.D. Hayworth commercial about free money.

    @gg,
Dear Smitty, how come the “impeccable” Birch (your term) make the claim that Google Trends shows John Dennis being a very popular search in the San Francisco area”

Adjectives are a subjective thing. You may be right that the choice of “impeccable” overstated the case for Birch’s equally subjective points.

Notwithstanding that needle, how about the rest of the post?

You don’t seem to reject the characterization of the good Speaker treating the American people like a human ashtray. Does your focus on a relatively minor point signal tacit agreement, or are you just easily distracted?
