Labor Day Is Over . . .

Posted on | September 7, 2010 | 6 Comments

. . . marking the official end of “Recovery Summer”:

(Hat-tip: Ed Driscoll.) Meanwhile, there’s good news and bad news: The good news is, the media have identified three endangered Democrat incumbents in Virginia.

The bad news: Jim Moran isn’t one of them.

Don’t be dismayed, however. Smitty keeps pounding hard for Patrick Murray, whose shocking upset of the obnoxious Moran will restore dignity to VA-8.

Also: A trio of political scientists predict a 79% likelihood of Republicans recapturing the House, with an estimated gain of 50 seats.

Update (Smitty): VA-8 residents are encouraged to spread this post around like Presidential chew toys.

I predict the GOP takes the whole House except for Rangel’s seat.

As someone who grew up in the DC area…and specifically in Moran’s district from 1989 thru 1995… I would be DE-LIGHTED to see him dethroned.

That’s nigh to impossible a dream usually, considering we’re talking about the People’s Republic of NOVA here.

However…these are not normal times. So who knows?

All the above being said… I live in NE Tennessee now…right next door to Boucher’s district. We’ve been hoping and praying that someone would take him out but he’s been an institution practically down here for ages.

Maybe this wave election will finally be the thing that retires him from “service”. That’d be sweet.
