Heroic Marine Assaults Enemy Stronghold

That stronghold being Maryland’s 5th Congressional District, where House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer is pinned down under heavy fire from Republican challenger Charles Lollar:

You know the Democrats are in trouble when Steny Hoyer hits the airwaves in his campaign to retain his seat in Congress. Hoyer, whose seat was generously drawn for him by Maryland Senate President Mike Miller, usually uses his campaign largesse to benefit his Democratic Party colleagues with little thought of himself.
That changed due to an aggressive campaign by first-time candidate Charles Lollar, who is making inroads into previous Hoyer strongholds in Charles, Prince George’s and St. Mary’s counties.
Lollar, who served in the Marine Corps, is taking the same no-nonsense approach to going after the previously unassailable Hoyer that has earned the U.S. Marine Corps worldwide respect and, yes, a little bit of fear.
Steny, who famously bragged in past campaigns that he is a “tax, tax, spend, spend Democrat,” has, through the magic of political advertising, been transformed into a statesman whom the good people of the 5th congressional district of Maryland cannot do without. . . .

When you tell a Marine to “take that hill,” he’s gonna by God take that hill, or die trying. . . .
Are you gonna let a Marine die on that hill?

Now, thanks to your help, Maj. Lollar has Steny Hoyer in his sights. How about giving another $20 to help Charles Lollar finish the fight?

This is truly a heroic battle. The Lollar campaign is run entirely by volunteers, with strong Tea Party support, and an upset victory in MD-5 would shock the nation. Every “Dollar for Lollar” makes a difference. Please do all you can to help.

    While reading Instapundit, I recognized the name, Charles Lollar, and had to check for myself. Yes, it is the same Charles that I knew from McEachern High School in Powder Springs, GA. Charles is one of those people that you never forget. It boils down to his infectious positivity, sense of humor and giant smile. You go Charles! A Benjamin Franklin from Chris Thompson and family is on it’s way.

    What is truly great is that he is an African American who espouses the beliefs that make this country great running against a pork laden, self serving career politician who treats his district as his own private fiefdom. I am sending some dollars to Lollar!

    FWIW, it is reported that at the end of their debate, Hoyer turned to Lollar and said “I’m coming after you!”

    Forget the vote. Just go mano-a-mano in a cage.

    Where will Steny move next? His district was redrawn a few elections ago because he couldn’t attract the Black Vote. If he’s threatened this time by a Black Republican, they’ll have to find him more white turf south of his current district.

    Oh and a Benjamin went to Lollar this am.

    DcThunder, there IS a Marine running against Chris Van Hollen. It’s Mike Phillips, an excellent candidate and former Capt. in the Marine Corps. Vote for him this Nov. 2nd.

    Did Hoyer actually have the gall to threaten his political opponent, Major Lollar, with the words, “I’m coming after you”? Just exactly what did this miserable D-rat creep mean by that? Forget the issues – I’ll lie and smear your reputation? SEIU will camp in your yard?

    Hoyer is a public employee. No one in the private sector who conducted himself with such a gangster attitude would keep his job for two seconds. Can’t Marylanders see behind the mask of the fascist thugs who have no other object than to steal them blind?
