Shocker: UNESCO Thumbs Its Nose At American Interests

The ‘Stache reports:

UNESCO, true to form, has voted today to admit the Palestinian Authority as a member. So ineffective was Obama administration diplomacy that France voted in favor of Palestinian membership, and Britain and Japan abstained. U.S. statutes, dating from 1990, now require a full cutoff of U.S. funding, which Congress should insist occur immediately. Should the administration seek changes in the applicable statutory provisions that would eliminate or weaken the funding cutoff, Congress should reject them.

I expect Boehner to be all over that and really turn the screws on the Administration. . .real soon now.

    Which demonstrates how out of touch Speaker McClellan is. The UN is one of the first examples people give as to where we should cut foreign aid spending and is unpopular in general. Making a big stink about UNESCO while also highlighting that Obama has increased funding to the UN, Hamas for example would get the base fired up and would be a good example of how skewed this regimes priorities are. Going after Obama on this would be good policy as well as good politics.

    The GOP elite will throw us peasants a bit of “deeply concerned” rhetoric and then flounce off to their next cocktail party with their dear, dear friends from the UN.

    Are there any other UN or other international organizations Palestine can join so we can cut off U.S. funding?

    yeah, any. time. now. {tick tock tick tock}

    The weeping orange Boner hasn’t seen fit to schedule any votes on the repeal of Obamacare or his mightiness’ executive orders or any other mundane use of his office.

    Can’t we have a revote? Despite having their ass kicked in 2006 and 2008 and skeeved back in because there was no one else to vote for in 2010 STILL haven’t figured out that the conservative MAJORITY wants them to stop “reaching around across the aisle to Democrats” and kick some progressive liberal ass.

    2012 better be a stellar year in reigning in RINOS and progressives John or you’ll be getting that tan on the beach 24/7.

    First saw this elsewhere and thought (didn`t read it there) wow, Obumble actually cut funding to a UN agency. Pinch me quick ! I see now that it is written US policy that works automatically (ish). Yeah, I should`a known better and NO, I don`t expect Weepy Bonehead to be all over this !

    Sorry to rain on your rant, but the House voted to repeal ObamaCare in January, only two weeks after Boehner was elected Speaker.  It would do no good at all to vote it again, it is up to the Senate to act until the end of the session.

    Boehner was elected by a majority of the House Republicans.

    Obama followed the law in this case not because it is the law – he laughs at bourgeois concerns like that – but because he is playing catch-up with Jewish voters and donors, who have finally realized he would just as soon see Israel turned over to the Palestinians.

    Of course the inevitable firestorm if  he hadn’t placed no part in this decision.

    That’s exactly why Cryin’ John won’t do it!
