Q. Why does the Virginia GOP continue to spurn people like just a conservative girl, to its detriment?

So I wasted well over two hours of my time and have no tickets to the debate. When I got back home I sent the following email to the Chairman:

I am writing to tell you how deceptive the FCRC is. The below email says that the tickets for the debate are free. I no longer drive for health reasons, so it took me two hours round trip to get to the office today to pick up my “free” tickets. Come to find out according to them free means that I have to do two hours of volunteer work. I even inquired on why the email said that the tickets are free, she said they are free. How exactly is something free if you are required to work for two hours? I was told that your email said that they were looking for volunteer help in exchange for the “free” tickets. Unless I am missing something the below email says nothing about volunteering.
I have given money and volunteered in the past. No more. The RPV will never get another dime or one bit of help from me again. This is why you can’t make traction in Fairfax County. No one wants to deal with people who are purposely deceptive.

Read the whole enchelada.Knowing this lady as I do from doing Tea Party events and candidate support over the last couple of years, the FCGOP really did itself no favors here.

I’m embarrassed. I’ve gone to a couple of Fairfax County GOP meetings (OK, I am a member). I can say that they’re actually trying. Probably I should volunteer to form up some kind of blogger outreach unit, so that the old dogs can learn some new tricks, lest they become Presidential lunch.

I don’t see how that is directed at JACG or bloggers or “new media” – it’s just blatantly misleading to anyone who got it:

The third debate will be held on Friday May 25th at 6:30pm at the Fairview Park Marriott located at 3111 Fairview Park Drive – Falls Church, Virginia.  Free tickets to the Northern Virginia debate will be available beginning on April 20th at the Fairfax and Loudoun GOP Victory Centers.

You can’t ask for anything in exchange for “free” merchandise.  It used to be prohibited by law, but something happened along the way.  For instance, “Free Credit Report dot com” gives you free reports when you enroll in their plan.  I think you CAN cancel out for nothing after you get the free report, but you have to jump through hoops and they already have your credit card.  Not my idea of “free,” thanks.+

It’s just stupid for a political party to pull this crap.  STUPID.

I can only assume that the proximity to DC has destroyed most of their brain cells.

In other GOP news, Senator McConnell and John Boehner today endorsed Governor Whitman McCain.  The crackling dynamo of Republican government reform is spinning up!  Why, even as we speak crack focus groups are grappling with the tough question of whether to stop calling Obama a nice guy…

Smitty, Thanks for the linky love.

Adjorn, it isn’t so much that it is directed at bloggers, the problem is that they don’t stop to think that they are sending these things out to people who are bloggers and very involved with social media.  It is no longer just a handful of people who are hearing this.

So typical of the GOP. Where I used to be County Engineer, the former chairman of the county committee used to recruit people to run against GOP incumbents just to stir things up.

Smitty, if they really are trying, they aren’t really thinking. It really was stupid of them. We get enough nonsense from the DC Ruling party without the locals pulling such trash.

The GOP is one half of the ruling party!

    Smitty,

This story sounds  familiar — Now, if only I can get support to work at the Magnolia office for the CAGOP…..

    Infuriating.

Anyone who follows conservative girl’s blog knows that she has
been a hard-working and very thoughtful supporter of Republican candidates–both on and off her blog.

This is exactly the kind of experience that drives people out of civic involvement.

    If
the RPV has any spine or decency (or access to a dictionary), conservative girl
should be finding a pair of genuinely free tickets in her mail box (or at least email box),
    along with a profuse apology.

Sadly, this is so typical of Republican organizations around the fuited plain.

OPERATION WHIG is sounding better all the time.

It would seem you’re chice of words is correct as the only explanation for their rank stupidity is that they are, and have been for quite some time, smoking crack.

Crack is whack – and we should whack these losers good and hard…and repeatedly.

There’s certainly a mindset that seems to invade the brains of people who get elected to city / town / county/ state committees.  The Dems have their version and the Repubs their’s.

I must admit that, when I was Vice Chairman of a city committee in the early 1990’s, I gave into it for a brief time and became something I didn’t like very much.

‘Spine’ and ‘Decency’ seem to be two skills that disqualify one for any position of pwer in these kind of GOP groups.

They caved.  Free tickets are now really free.  It is amazing what a few bloggers can accomplish!!!

Like I was saying: now we have to demonstrate the value added by the blogs.
