So you’re arguing that exercising a Constitutional right which had been granted 166 years previously was actually motivated by fear?
Lord have mercy, Amanda: that is about the most jacked up, ahistorical, illogical pile of hooey I’ve heard since the last time #OccupyResoluteDesk opened his pie hole. Please just take a vacation, de-program yourself, and come to grips with the certainly messy, but increasingly pro-liberty, history of your country. It’s taken a long time for technology to get us to where we can realize the dream of the Founders. Those getting zany with the airbrush, like you are here, are no help whatsoever.

The Second Amendment does not grant any right. It states that the right (which already exists) shall not be infringed. The Declaration of Independence clearly articulates the source of unalienable rights as our Creator.
The Ninth Amendment, proposed along with the Second by a single act of Congress, states “The enumeration in the Constitution,
of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained
by the people.” In order to retain something, one must first have it. This wording makes very clear that these rights are not granted by having been mentioned in the Constitution.
This is important because the Left always tries to win the battle of definitions so we have to fight the rest of the war on their terms. Don’t surrender to the idea that government grants a right. Government grants privileges and immunities, which it may then revoke at its whim.

What Amanda deliberately omits is that the gun control laws implemented in Jim Crow and the various Black Codes were put in there by her own Democrat Party for the avowed purpose of disarming blacks so they would be easy victims.

Exactly. Government cannot revoke a right … it may deny the exercise a right to a specific individual because of their actions and as a result of judicial action (cf. the suspension [denial of the exercisie of rights] of 2nd amendment rights to convicted felons, suspension [denial of the exercisie of rights] of the right to vote for convicted felons. Said suspension of the exercise of these rights can be reversed by judicial action or executive fiat (Governors can restore these rights as may the court that convicted the person seeking restoration).
The rights of man are a part of natural law and devolve from the Creator of nature, i.e., GOD, not government.
