Does Anybody Think @BillMaher Is Funny?

I mean, besides Bill Maher:

I keep hearing Ryan as teen drove the weinermobile – it sounds like a euphemism 4 gay

While gay-baiting Paul Ryan, Maher also engages in racial stereotyping of President Obama:

“In many ways — especially for progressives — [Obama] is too white for them. He plays golf, he’s too cozy with bankers. But when it comes to knowing how to fight, he’s black” — referring to the tough campaign Obama is running against the Republicans.

Twitchy points out that this isn’t the first time Maher has used the “thug” stereotype of blacks in talking about Obama. May 2010:

“I thought when we elected a black president, we were going to get a black president. You know, this [BP oil spill] is where I want a real black president. I want him in a meeting with the BP CEOs, you know, where he lifts up his shirt where you can see the gun in his pants. That’s — (in black man voice) we’ve got a ‘motherfu**ing problem here?’ Shoot somebody in the foot.”

Permit me to say that, as offensive as Maher’s invocation of the violent black thug stereotype might be, I am equally offended by the stereotype of whites as effete golf-players who are “cozy with bankers.” A very narrow and insular world exists inside Maher’s mind — not only is there no law-abiding black middle class, but there is no white working class. Black people are all inner-city ghetto thugs and whites are all overprivileged suburbanites. Chris Barron of GOProud Tweets:

@BillMaher just remember gay-baiting is always totally cool if you are a liberal and always reprehensible if you aren’t.

You can never accuse liberals of having no standards. In fact, they have two standards: One for them, and one for everybody else.

Bill Maher is an angry, bitter liberal TV talking head who is angry and bitter because he is an irrelevant TV talking head.

He made himself irrelevant by trying to be “edgy”, and continues to dig that hole deeper on a daily basis because he is simply stupid and offensive.

Other people would have moved into another line of work; Bill hangs on because, appallingly enough, there’s a market for angry, bitter assholes ranting on cable TV.

Bill Maher was sort of funny back during the Politically Incorrect days when he was supposedly libertarian and not overtly leftist. Now he is just a shill for Obama (and pandering to a small HBO audience) he has essentially turned into the Charles Johnson of television.

Since Bill Maher is white, does that make him an effete golf player? Maybe he’s a self-hating gay.

“But when it comes to knowing how to fight, he’s black”

Where I grew up blacks weren’t really good at fighting, not one on one anyway. You never had to be worried about being jumped by one black guy. If there were a couple though they would have the courage to take someone on. The more there were the more likely they would mess with you.

In all the actual one-on-one fights I saw between blacks and whites the white always won – the black guy would be ducking and dodging, while the white boy would shut his eyes and go in swinging.

If Maher is going to include racial stereotypes at least he should pick accurate ones, not ones that play to the prejudices of his entirely metrosexual audience. What a raaaaacist…

Was Maher ever funny for anyone above the mental age of 6?

Maher is simply a typical leftist. Being a democrat means you think non-whites are weak, stupid, shiftless and violent by nature. The democrat party has supported that position for over 200 years.

Maher is funny like a turd in a punch bowl is funny. People laugh but it’s a nervous embarrassed laugh because it smells bad, it pollutes the medium it’s immersed in, everyone’s embarrassed by it but won’t mention how bad it looks and everyone is relieved when it gets flushed down the drain.

Back in the 1990s Bill Maher, Janeane Garofalo, and even Michael Moore were all more interesting people and not the hyperpartisans they have been for a decade+ now.

I see him as funny, but in the ‘off in the head’ definition of the word.

My dad, 83, plays golf every Tuesday – his regular group is a bunch of retired sheriff’s deputies. Maher would piss his tighty whiteys if he had to repeat his crap in front of the 4 of them.

Bill Maher’s material used to be funny when Woody Allen and David Steinberg were telling it for the first time.
