Harry Reid’s Benghazi Cover-Up

Posted on | November 17, 2012 | 29 Comments

Now that we know for a fact that President Obama deliberately deceived Americans about the terrorist attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi — remember, the president promised to “get to the bottom of it” — now the Senate Majority Leader does his part to suppress the ugly truth:

If Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid didn’t make it clear enough to Republicans that he opposes a select committee to investigate the Benghazi attacks, he said it again Friday: No way.
In letters to key Republican senators, Reid put his foot down — again — on the idea of a special panel to dig into the Sept. 11 assault that killed U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and three diplomatic aides in Libya. A select committee would need a floor vote to be created, and Reid said he wouldn’t permit it.
“I refuse to allow the Senate to be used as a venue for baseless partisan attacks,” Reid wrote in the three-page letter, released Friday evening.

And, of course, by “baseless partisan attacks,” what Harry Reid actually means is, the truth.

In prior instances, such as with Watergate in 1973, the Ds completely controlled Congress, or at least the Senate, so they could form all the select committees they wanted. Its hard when you don’t control the body. Maybe something can be done in the House.

Yup, time to go after Obama. And Billary.

And I retract my earlier comments about President Zero not throwing Rice under the bus; he did so when he sent her out with those selectively edited talking points. Whether she knew they were false or not is immaterial, save that for the possibility that Rice threw herself under the bus, kamikaze style.

The House needs to very publicly announce that, in the absence of any sense of bipartisanship from the Senate Democrats they will go it alone.

    Then start issuing subpoenas.

The House also needs to come out with their own version of tax increases/revenue enhancers – ones targeted directly at the Democrat/Hollywood/Wall Street axis.

The only way out of an ambush is to fight through it.

Add Reid’s name to the list of those to be tried for treason.

He’s been on my version of it for quite some time.

“Baseless partisan attacks” — like when Reid stood on the Senate floor & claimed some unnamed guy told him that Romney paid ZERO taxes for 10 years or have I misunderstood something here?

  • jsn2

Place Reid in stocks in the middle of the next OWS protest wearing only his Depends diaper. That might change his mind.

  • JeffS

    You understand perfectly, Angie.

Harry Reid and pederasty. Why do those terms go together?

  • http://evilbloggerlady.blogspot.com/ Evi L. Bloggerlady

Look up pederasty in the dictionary and you will find Harry Reid’s picture.

Harry Reid is the perfect example of a corrupt politican.

When conservatives “go after” Rice, we’re called “sexists” and “racists”. If we criticize Dirty Harry, does that make us “age-ists”, “douche-ists” or both?

Amen! And the recording industry special deductions, too!

  • http://wizbangblog.com/ Adjoran

I’d be happy if we got him for half his corruption.

  • http://wizbangblog.com/ Adjoran

With no previous wealth or experience, and no particular skill, he went from a middle-class freshman Congressman to a multi-millionaire Senator. Others have stolen more than Reid, but no one has stolen such a high percentage of their own net worth, his money is all corrupt, every dime of it.

  • http://wizbangblog.com/ Adjoran

Oh, and his son got a $1 million+ lobbying job with a union-connected law firm. Coincidence, of course.

Sen. Harry Reid = seditious swine

Make that… ‘tried to deceive’. No one with a IQ of 50 and above was deceived.

  • ThomasD

A ‘one time’ tax on the wealth held in private university endowments, and charitable foundations should also be on the table.

It would give us a chance to look at the highly connected web of fatcats who sit on their governing boards making piles of money off of their manipulation.

It is not baseless…there is a clear basis for the investigation. It is not partisan….both parties want to know the truth and who made the call to let the four men die.
It is not an attack….its an investigation. Investigations do not attack anyone, but sometimes the results of investigations turn out to be somewhat unpleasant for the wrongdoers.
(Harry Reid allege injust treatment of bank robbers if it suited his political needs….the man lacks scruples. Someone should send him a big ol’ bag of scruples)

Excellent solutions: You should be President.

Why isn’t the CIA or someone with a legit gripe about being thrown under the bus INVESTIGATING this POS once and for all?
