Hate Kills: Left’s Demonization of Conservative Group Inspired Shooter

Posted on | February 6, 2013 | 56 Comments

Who told Floyd Corkins that the Family Research Council was a leading opponent of the gay-rights agenda? Who convinced Floyd Corkins that opponents of the gay-rights agenda were evil people who need to die? Whoever they are, they’ve got blood on their hands:

After years of thinking it over, Floyd Corkins finally had a plan.
He’d bought a gun and learned how to use it. He’d loaded three magazines. And he had stopped by Chick-Fil-A to pick up 15 sandwiches, which he planned to smear in the dying faces of staffers he expected to kill at the Family Research Council in Washington.
It would be a statement, he said, “against the people who work in that building,” according to documents filed in U.S. District Court, where Corkins pleaded guilty on Wednesday to three charges related to the August shooting at the conservative policy group.
Corkins told Judge Richard Roberts that he hoped to intimidate gay rights opponents. . . .
“They endorse Chick-Fil-A and also Chick-Fil-A came out against gay marriage, so I was going to use that as a statement,” prosecutors quoted Corkins as telling investigators.

Guess what? The Southern Poverty Law Center — which did much to demonize the Family Research Center by listing them as a “hate” group — is embraced as a valuable partner by Eric Holder’s Justice Department. So, in effect, the Obama administration has given its imprimatur of approval to this terrorism against conservatives.

Read more about the SPLC/DOJ partnership at Atlas Shrugs.

UPDATE: Steve Ertelt at LifeNews quotes Family Research Council President Tony Perkins:

“The Southern Poverty Law Center can no longer say that it is not a source for those bent on committing acts of violence. Only by ending its hate labeling practices will the SPLC send a message that it no longer wishes to be a source for those who would commit acts of violence that are only designed to intimidate and silence Christians and others who support natural marriage and traditional morality.”

Again, I repeat: The Department of Justice under Eric Holder is fully in partnership with the SPLC and thus tactitly endorses this group’s terroristic war of intimidation against conservatives.

Not bad enough being killed, but then to have a chicken sandwich smeared in your face… and this act would have turned hearts all over the world and ushered in a new age of gay tolerance.

    Sure. Typical leftist magical thinking.

Let’s see the SPLC cite this in their annual “OMG! Hate groups! Send Us Money!” campaign. Since every year according to the SPLC there are more hate groups than ever before, what’s the current percentage of membership? !50% of the population? 200%?

The SPLC is also responsible for this turd of a line in your wikipedia entry:

The Southern Poverty Law Center has claimed that McCain was once a
member of League of the South, which the SPLC classifies as a white
    supremacist hate group.

No, there is nothing wrong here…we can see the end game is that everyone will play ring around the rosie, with a pocket full of posies.

It’s all good man, we’re not going to have further problems with the govt aligning itself with leftist radicals.

Seems to be a pattern: program folks to hate conservatives unconditionally, tell them the end justifies the means, and that no one really goes to jail, and wait.

Almost makes one wonder, given the timing between the violence and the Prognazi PR campaigns if Loughner and Holmes and Lanza were recruited. It’s how AQ gets its suicide bombers.

If you want to see their real level of tolerance, mention to them that there are more new HIV cases per year than gun homicides. Suggest that there should be a published registry of HIV-positive people, just so non-infected people know who to avoid unprotected sex with. Tell them you understand it’s invasive and that you respect their lifestyle choice, but if it can “save just one more life”… well, you know the rest. See how tolerant our “liberal” friends are with that idea.

Nkosi Thandiwe. He said in court testimony that he murdered one white woman and severely injured others in Atlanta in 2011 after being taught at the University of West Georgia that whites must be punished and even killed.

The left has for decades been taking command of public institutions for the purpose of wiping out, by any means necessary, their conservative and white enemies. Even most conservatives don’t comprehend the menace that has assembled against them.

In 1930’s Germany, Jews thought Germany was a civilized country and the anti-semitic hysterica would just blow over. How’d that work out?

The left’s campaign of extreme vilification of the white and the conservative “other” is not going to moderate. It is going to intensify in a way most people cannot begin to comprehend. The kids coming out of high school today have been steeped in anti-white hate. Each successive generation builds upon the last and tries to outdo the leftist “righteousness” of those who went before them. You’d better not give up your guns. Chances are you’re going to need them.

A white friend of mine is uncle to some nice, educated hispanic kids. They love him but at the same time openly talk in all seriousness about how they hate the white race and that people should be forced into camps where they will be made to live by green environmental rules. That’s the upcoming generation, folks. The parallels with other nascent totalitarian states are real and deeply chilling for anyone paying attention.

So, in this case the responsibility doesn’t lay with the shooter and the shooter alone, but rather with the SPLC? Are you serious in your hypocrisy or is this one of those conservative high-schoolish “neener neener” moments where you proclaim you’re saying what you say because liberals said it first?

    A few additional thoughts:

History is full of cases of people living together as neighbors, friends, even family until violently oppressing a particular group seems like a good idea. People generally manage to get along until a propaganda-fed hatred gains critical mass and tips over into some sort of pogrom.

What groundwork is being laid by the relentless, ever-more-intense media and state demonization of white conservatives and everything they allegedly do or have done? To what ultimate end? What will ultimately come of it? What possible good could come out of it over the long term?

The left claims the completely peaceful and law abiding Tea Partiers are “American Taliban” and worse while excusing or outright lying about the brutality and ugliness of the Occupy movement. What comes after such declarations? After decades of media and state propaganda? One of the things those ideas make clear is that an anti-rational mob mentality is already deeply implanted in the population both at the “elite” opinion-forming level and at the ignorant mob level.

In Rwanda they used state radio to legitimize and sustain a mass slaughter. Now consider for a minute what the media did with the Trayvon Martin killing and the “white hispanic” shooter. The two media campaigns are more alike than they are dissimilar.

  49. ZeitTrash

It’s not the sort of thing that begins as a mano-a-mano shootout. Regular working people going about their day are attacked. Trumped up charges are levied (if you’re lucky) or people are beaten and killed (if you’re not lucky). Look at the string of Trayvon-inspired attacks. Look at the LA riots.

The racism angle is merely a distraction. It’s not about skin color nearly as much as it is about totalitarianism.

Let’s not get all ginned up about them “coming after whites.” Only Democrats care about skin color.

If you are Christian, Jewish, Conservative, or a gun owner, you’re on their list.
