Nerd Jokes in Georgia

The yearbook quote that got Mundy’s Mill High School senior Paris Gray in trouble was actually kind of clever, if you’re into rap music and the periodic table of elements. Maybe not as clever as the Nine Sexiest Words, but still clever, and if kids are making chemistry jokes, they’re probably doing OK in school. So I’m glad the school decided that she can still speak at graduation.

    While clever, it was vulgar.

About the funniest I ever got with the Table was when I got everyone who worked in a restaurant calling salt by reading the letters as a word. As in, please pass the “nackle.” Not funny at all, in other words, but folks enjoyed calling it that for quite a while.

I just seriously doubt today’s high school administrators are clever enough to figure it out. Some student tipped them off.
