Another Oppressed Victim of Heteronormative Patriarchy

Posted on | January 21, 2015 | 50 Comments

Feminists must be grumbling this morning about the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign’s P.R. coup, a glowing feature story in People magazine about Chelsea’s enjoyment of motherhood:

“I’m so happy being a mom” — and shares why she’s so passionate about talking, reading and singing to her baby, in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE and video featuring the former first daughter and [the Muppet character] Elmo.
“I have a beautiful baby daughter named Charlotte,” a beaming Clinton tells Elmo, later sharing, “I try really hard to be a good mommy. I think it’s the most important job in the world.”

Feminists hear the voices of Women’s Studies professors inside their heads: Marriage is slavery! Motherhood oppresses women! PIV is rape!

This is all positioning for the campaigns: Hillary for President and Chelsea for Congress.

Feminists must be grumbling this morning about… a glowing feature story in People magazine about Chelsea’s enjoyment of motherhood…

I suggest that they are not for a few reasons:

    1. This is one of the CLINTONS we’re talking about. NOTHING they do is bad; everything they do is praiseworthy. This is because Bill is such a passionate supporter of women’s rights, and Hillary is such a role model for the strong, independent woman who has it all due solely to her own efforts and merit

[returns from bathroom, wiping vomit from chin and shirt front]

    2. Motherhood is perfectly fine as far as lefties are concerned so long as it’s the (rich, liberal) woman’s CHOICE. Chelsea could CHOOSE to be a single mom, a childless woman, a lesbian, a stripper, or a Catholic nun (OK, maybe not that) and it would be fine with these people. Only conservative or poor minority women having kids is wrong because Patriarchy

    3. I’m going to go out on a limb on this one: even the most ardent feminists have a maternal instinct and a reflexive jealousy for women who have children when they don’t: the same woman who will extol abortion, population control, &c. will fawn over little babies

That being said, I hope she DOES enjoy motherhood. I enjoy being a father, and I would wish that all parents feel about their children as I do about my daughter.

or Chelsea for Secretary of State. After all, it has been proved that you don’t really need to know what you are doing to hold that job, and your job performance doesn’t matter.

I’ve noticed a certain pattern in this blog for about a year now.

Don’t get me wrong, I love trolling feminists. Not because they’re 180° wrong 100% of the time. Not because their shrill hysterical histrionic media tantrums fill me with a certain unexpressed schadenfreudic glee. Not because of the manifest irony that concomitant with their own success will inevitably come their own annihilation. I.E. They’re pulling the rug out from under themselves which is something that I don’t think even the Three Stooges ever thought of. No, I love trolling feminists because there’s an uncooked pie in the kitchen and it’s not going to cook itself!

What did the male chauvinist say to the battered woman with two black eyes? Nothing. He already told her twice.

No! Ambassador to Vanuatu. get him somewhere he can’t do any damage. Consul General at Magdan Siberia would be even better.

I dunno. Blue on blue incidents have cropped up quite a bit in liberal la-la land. And I think some actual data is needed for me to buy into your third point.

For years now what we’re facing has had the generic term “political correctness” attached to it, but with no real face or understanding of what is actually behind it.

I have long felt PC is the most dangerous thing to face America since WW II. Just look at the driver’s license fiasco in Calif. That is a total breakdown of society and law.

Now that we know the face we have some idea how to fight it.

I wonder. Is the young Chelsea staying at home with her child instead of using her intelligence and degree to further the cause of women everywhere? If so, where are the denunciations? Will she experience recriminations has other professional women have–like my spouse–who thought that rearing children was better than mindlessly pursuing ever increasing accolades of the Progressive caste?

For some reason, I doubt it.

Obvious is obvious. The radical lesbian dream-date of them reproducing via cyborgs will never come to pass. The more successful they became at overwhelming society the more the tech would die out. Gender studies don’t create things like time-keeping at sea, men do. That’s not some identity puffery feminists indulge where they claim to have always fought in wars but a hard solid fact repeated so endlessly I’m amazed at the sheer arrogance and level of denial inherent to feminism.

  24. InRussetShadows

Exactly. It’s a charm offensive, for that precise purpose. Nothing the Clintons do is by accident or for the reasons they say it is.

At some point, Hillary is going to realize she can travel the world at the Clinton Foundation’s expense, make speeches for $250K+ a pop, and have all the time in the world to enjoy her new granddaughter before she turns into an obnoxious tween.

This could be a good thing if it leads her not to run.

  36. Adobe_Walls
    January 21st, 2015 @ 8:56 pm

I’ve been saying for awhile now that she’d be doing the exact the same things, running or not in order to keep up the speaking fees. You’re quite correct about the foundation but I’m not so sure about the speaking fees. If the drop dead moment comes and she doesn’t run, her cachet will drop substantially. Her only real value to the party or Wall Street is the chance she might become president. After that’s no longer true, the only thing left is being Bill’s wife and her drinking.

  37. richard mcenroe
    January 21st, 2015 @ 8:56 pm

Doesn’t matter. She’s a Democrat woman. If the Clinton dynasty somehow makes it past Hillary, the drones will fall in behind Chelsea on command.

Funny that, two women I know were looking at that pic earlier today only they were having a debate over which cammo pattern the shoes were (AOR1 vs new Army Combat Uniform patterns). Ernst is Army and the two women discussing the shoes were ex-military as well. I didn’t know about the other background

The point is he wasn’t an outlier but surrounded by a specific community and history that made that come about. In feminist lingo, he was not them.

That’s an awfully small sample to identify the pattern, but it looks like MultiCam, or whatever

the Army decided to call it.

Amusing juxtaposition, the military pattern and feminine shoes, though. Progs would only accept them if they’re worn ironically.

While money means a great deal to Mzzz. Rodham, Power is much more important to her.

If she runs and loses again, the harridan will still be able to rake in the big bucks as the #1 Victim Of The Patriarchy. If she doesn’t run, like Adobe says, her ‘cachet will drop’ faster than her uterus.

It wasn’t a completely serious discussion. Just inside baseball military humor and I should have noted that.

A female Army vet wearing cammo heels is a situation similar to how few people outside mil aviation would recognize the phrase Martin Baker Frequent Flier Club or the special necktie aviators receive for being a “member”

Besides I doubt any shoe company outside of DoD boot contractors would actually duplicate an official cammo pattern.
