Whatever happened to old-fashioned lesbian family values?

Rosie O’Donnell and her wife, Michelle Rounds, have split, and O’Donnell will leave “The View” next week to concentrate on her family’s well-being, Page Six can exclusively reveal.
Sources close to O’Donnell told us that she and Rounds, her wife of three years, have been living apart for months, and that O’Donnell feels she must leave the ABC daytime show to focus on her five kids.
Rosie’s rep, Cindi Berger, confirmed the marital split, as well O’Donnell’s departure from “The View,” in a statement Friday night: “I can confirm that Rosie and her wife Michelle split in November. Rosie has teens and an infant at home that need her attention. This has been a very stressful situation. She is putting her personal health and family first. ABC has been wonderfully understanding and supportive of her personal decision to leave ‘The View.’ Next week will be her last.”
O’Donnell, 52, married her second wife Rounds in private in June 2012. In 2013, they adopted a baby girl, Dakota. She has four other older kids.

Notice that this is O’Donnell’s second lesbian wife. Her first marriage to longtime girlfriend Kelli Carpenter ended in 2007. Carpenter now has her own second wife, and the four O’Donnell-Carpenter children seem closer to Kelli than to Rosie. Nobody in the world of media is allowed to say a word about the unnatural weirdness of all this — two boys and three girls without fathers, one of them (Kelli’s youngest) conceived by artificial insemination — because equality!

This is the Feminist Dream Life™ of women free from the heteronormative oppression of male supremacy, and we are all required to believe that it’s a utopia of undimmed bliss. Nor are we permitted to point out that some women who once lived as lesbians are now happily married to men, because this contradicts everything we are supposed to “know,” about both (a) the alleged permanence of homosexual identity and (b) traditional marriage as patriarchal slavery for women.

Meanwhile, we learn that angry lesbians are not ratings gold:

The collapse of Rosie O’Donnell’s two-year marriage had nothing to do with her quitting the troubled daytime chat show, The View, show insiders have disclosed.
In fact, her sudden departure was prompted by rows with producers and other staff, who are said to be delighted she is leaving.
O’Donnell is being seen as the key reason for the show’s collapsing ratings, which had led to serious concerns over falling advertising revenue. . . .
ABC insiders now acknowledge it was a disastrous error to bring O’Donnell back to the show.
They say that far from her suggestion that her marriage had become troubled recently, it was already on the rocks when she was signed for The View.

Anyone who has observed Rosie O’Donnell over the years recognizes that she is the source of her own problems. Her “humor” (such as it is) emerges from a bitter and resentful heart. She hates happy people, envying them for experiencing a joy that she can never feel, and she refuses to accept that she is responsible for her own unhappiness.

In celebrating such unhappy people as role models for youth, the media elite have helped promote a Culture of Despair.

    Her behavior since 2001 strongly suggests that the ‘queen of nice’ business was always an act. Again, the denunciations of her father (who really is just Joe Blow off the sidewalks of Long Island hit with the random strikes people are) suggest she’s been seething for a long time. You’d figure that time and personal accomplishment would blunt that, but they have not.

    Perception is a funny thing. Doris Day was a nympho and Cary Grant took LSD yet they are considered symbols of redneck conformism. Social Justice Warriors have tattoos, nose-rings and blue hair and are some of the biggest rednecks you’ll ever run across. Their “edgy” art is my failed sit-com about redneck hijinx. SJWs are Orwell’s kids. There should be an award for “Best Doublethink” but the possibilities would be near infinite. When an “anti-racist” wants to “de-white” their library you’ve reached critical mass between the ability to think and brute animalism. Is that person too stupid to understand that in principle they just gave the green light to “de-Jew” their film library?

    I always think of the Paul Atriedes Test in Dune in this regard. The Bene Gesserit made a distinction between human and “human.” SJWs are not human in civilizational terms that include Constitutions and human rights.

    Not always. There are plenty of people who were beat down as kids or young adults that when they do make it big, still harbor that aggressive and attitude of it being undeserving. Long of the short as some others have noted in reviewing her old Improv acts, she is nice until she spins over to her family. She shows almost “no more wire hanger” levels of hate towards her step mother (who her dad remarried almost immediately after Rosie’s mom died when Rosie was 11). So the question was has she always been angry and hidden it with a stage persona of the “nice” or has she always been nice and switched to being mean. The evidence anecdotes seem to say that it’s the first issue. She has always been a seething bag of anger who tries to live the nice because that is sold herself to make it was the nice girl who doesn’t know how to be mean or scathing like some of the other women comics.

    IIRC her Current Biography entry from 20 years ago, there was no stepmother mentioned. Other biographical squibs have included the five O’Donnell children doing the grocery shopping, their father having dropped them off. One curio: CB was very specific about papa O’Donnell’s employment: technical photographer at NASA. Other squibs list him as an ‘electrical engineer’ employed by defense contractors. You wonder how much the portrait of her home life is simply fiction.
