Ooh…not sure that Trump was thumped. A New Yorker who is the epitome of loud brash in your face mover and shaker went to Iowa and placed second. So now I guess we can discard the idea that he was a stalking horse for Hillary, or that the campaign was a lark, or that he wouldn’t do well in Iowa because he didn’t have any ground game.

Cruz: Glad he won. The first actual conservative to win the Iowa caucus since…I dunno. Bush Sr.? Reagan? This is big.

Trump: He lost but I’m afraid he’s going to run as an independent and do a Ross Perot to Republicans; split the vote and let Hillary get in.
