I Wonder If Gergen Realizes That Was The Election

Brown was obviously laying in wait for Gergen to serve that up so he could crush it like so many dynastic dreams:

Of course, we’re talking about Massachusetts, so they could still vote Democrat. Vote Brown, you chowderheads. For Sam Adams, and the thought of why this country was founded.

Update:
I disagree with Dan Riehl, who thinks that Scott Brown should have also mentioned Martha Coakley in his statement. Less is more, gratuitous is no score.

    If we send just Brown and Rubio to the Senate in ’10, it will be a good year.

    A vote for Scott Brown is a vote for Martha Coakley.

    For that matter, a vote for anyone other than Joe Kennedy is a vote against mom, baseball, America, freedom and apple pie.

    There is a reason why Gergen and other Washington insiders consider this seat to be the Kennedy seat.

    The Kennedy clan has controlled this seat continuously since 1953.

    First John was elected to the seat in 1952. He held it until he resigned in 1960 to become president. The Kennedys then picked Ben Smith to hold the seat for two years until Ted turned 30. (The minimum age to serve in the Senate is 30)

    As soon as he turned 30 in 1962, Ted took over the seat until his death last year, when Paul Kirk was appointed to the seat. Paul Kirk was again hand picked by the Kennedys.

    So this particular Senate seat has in fact been the Kennedy family seat for the last 56 years.

    @gahrie,
    Also, this country was a colony of Great Britain for most of a couple of centuries, prior to independence.
    If we’re going to restore aristocracy, why not go Olde Europe?
