Awesome! Ace of Spades Gets in Touch With His Inner Social Conservative

Posted on | September 28, 2010 | 23 Comments

Admittedly, a social conservative famous for slinging f-bombs and sodomy jokes, but a social conservative nonetheless:

This was just evil for evil’s sake. She wanted to be even more famous than she is (and she is already quite a bit more famous than her present, but very limited, talents would recommend), and she decided to grab at that on the backs of tweener girls, already immersed in a culture that tells them virgins are weird and having sex is what the cool, popular kids do, with almost no pushback against this message at all. . . .

Read the whole thing. Ace is talking about Katy Perry’s latest sexed-up hit song and even manages to throw in some cleverly relevant references to Christine the Teenage Witch (Who Doesn’t Like Wankers).

Uhm, you guys realize that her initial claim to fame was a bubblegum ditty called “I Kissed a Girl,” right?

I think that from her, a song about having sex with one guy at a time *is* conservative.

Beyond being a teenage slut promoter, Katy Perry is not all that great as a performer. She is pretty enough, but Madonna did have talent. Even Lady Gaga has some talent (although I agree with Paglia’s criticism of her too). Katy Perry, not so much.

Perry’s fifteen minutes of fame are almost over.

I have never even heard of her. Doesn’t sound like I’ve missed much.

What libertarians tend to overlook is social conservatism discourages people from completely messing up their lives and then turning to the government for expensive services paid for by libertarians who believe you should be able to smoke or shoot up whatever you want and have sex with anybody you want but are themselves extremely square.

I’m in touch with my inner social conscience, but unfortunately it’s a trigger-happy right wing Latin American army officer.

Thrasymachus: You say that like there’s something wrong with that. 😉

Just wait a few months and she will be entering rehab and excited by the publicity that it generates for her.

As for Ace.. everyone who has a brain realizes, at some point, that it isn’t about letting everyone do their own thing, but about where you draw the line to BALANCES individual liberty with respect for others.

For all of our freedoms, there is a line. Free Speech, The Right to Bear Arms, The Right to Privacy, Free Assembly…etc.

Same with morality. There is a line where “hey, whatever” crosses the line.

Just like anything else, people are like snowflakes. Where they think the line should be… no two alike. But utlimately, there is a line and it is not all that hard to tell when it goes from gray to black – as our generatino was brainwashed into believing.

In the end, right and wrong is about balance, not absolutes.

I watched the first minute of her “California GRRLS” video. A red gummy bear showed her the middle finger.

I stopped it and deleted the tag.

You know what’s even more unnerving about Katy Perry? She sings “I Kissed a Girl” while both of her parents are PASTORS at a church in CA!!! They were not at first very happy about her, but they now embrace her!!! And get to enjoy the “goodies” that come with it, including a little plastic surgery here, a little Botox there…

If HER PARENTS don’t disapprove of her antics, then a lot of people might think “it’s OK to have a daughter who sells her soul and her body like a cheap whore.” Then their tween daughters see the same thing…

    Slouching towards Gomorrah, indeed!
