Reporting Their Own Opinions as ‘News’

“It all was part of a group effort . . . to shift the focus from the death of a U.S. Ambassador on a day when all the warning signs of trouble were in place but the U.S. government did little if anything to beef up security.
“It was a day on which the media could have been reporting facts as to the absentee President, the failure to heed the warnings and protect our diplomats, the failure of Muslim outreach, in fact, the failure of U.S. Mideast policy since the Arab Spring.
“But no, all the media wanted to talk about was their own opinions as to how badly Romney supposedly screwed up, with quotes from unnamed former Republican sources as the excuse for reporting it as news. This was . . . a clear attempt to frame the narrative to help a favored candidate presented as fact reporting.”

Professor William Jacobson, “Middle East and Journalism in Flames,”, Sept. 13, 2012

Gross media misfeasance. It should rate rescission of their First Amendment protection.

[…] Mid-East Policy and MSM Melt Down Simultaneously Posted on 13 September, 2012 by wjjhoge The Main Stream Media is in the tank for the Obama reelection campaign, and their coverage of the latest disasters in Libya, Egypt, and Yemen has been more for the President’s backside rather than the facts on the ground. Prof. Jacobson has a report on the MSM’s misbehavior at Legal Insurrection. (H/T, The Other McCain) […]

That’s the minimum penalty for one of the subsidiary charges.

The few Marines on duty at the Embassy were instructed to have NO AMMO.

The media diversion won’t work. This isn’t going away. Obama’s “Soft power” & “Smart Diplomacy” is blowing up in his face and on our screens. He wouldn’t even take a day off from campaign fundraising to mourn the loss of his Ambassador and three other diplomatic personnel, and deal with the crisis ready to explode.

He can’t find time to meet Israel’s PM in NYC next month, but has time to meet the muslim brotherhood President of Egypt AND go on Letterman.

Obama is done, folks. Despite the best efforts of Politico, Chuck Todd, and Mark Halperin.

The First Amendment doesn’t protect them from getting their asses kicked, does it?

God, I hope you’re right, but I just don’t trust a good swath of the American people any longer.
