New Documents Expose More #FreeKate Lies, Also: ‘Her Issues With Her Dad’?

Accusations that Florida sex offender Kaitlyn Hunt was prosecuted because of anti-gay bias by the parents of her underage partner were denied by officials at the school that both girls attended, according to documents obtained from the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office. In fact, Hunt’s mother — who made the accusations of homophobia — herself expressed disapproval of her daughter’s lesbian affair . . .

    S.J. I have read your blog. You seem to know quite a bit about the legalese involved in these things. The above is from the viralread article. Isn’t the assistant principle legally obligated to report this suspected abuse to authorities?

    Issues with Dad? Everyone’s history different, but I suspect if you did a serious inquiry into the question you would discover that it is modal among lesbians to have had fairly agreeable dealings with papa (Camille Paglia, Cynthia Yockey, Mary Cheney, and the creature formerly known as Chastity Sun Bono come to mind). Mama, not so much. (Rosie O’Donnell would be a prominent exception).

    And the elephant in the room is that homosexuality does not stem from a normal or balanced upbringing. It is a maladjustment from a dysfunctional early childhood environment, and oftentimes, being the victim of molestation is involved.

    It’s isn’t Normal.

    Agreed. Kaitlyn Hunt provided agreeable visuals, but the family is too trashy and undisciplined to be successfully marketed. The nexus of which The Advocate is a part will find better raw material next time and then it’s off to the races.

    Theoretically they are. I’m not sure of the laws in FL. Here in NM everyone, no matter who, is required to report this sort of thing. The law here makes the person who doesn’t report this type of thing as an accessory to abuse. I think it’s an excellent idea. The problem is where you get in a situation where some school administrators want to protect the good name and reputation of their school. I’ve seen this happen, too.

    That’s why I think this story has legs, for years to come, unfortunately. I swear part of the problem is people still don’t think a pretty, petite, blond, cheerleader can be guilty of such horrible crimes. And….my gosh you just helped me solve the murder mystery I’m writing. THANK YOU! I’ve been literally don’t nothing all day but thinking about how to end the novel. I think you just guessed who done it.

    Actually, it’s Kelley Hunt Smith, the mother of the perpetrator, that suggested that. The irony is that she suggested that her daughter wasn’t gay, and needed counseling, and then, try to make her daughter’s case a gay rights cause.

    But from what I read at Matt’s site, the documents don’t at least to me suggest the cousin told the principal about sex but rather a relationship (dating) and continued text messages. Not sure text messages and a dating relationship rises to the level of reporting and that’s why principal told her to tell her parents.
