Shocking News: @MaraWritesStuff Announces She Is Not Heterosexual

Posted on | June 14, 2016 | 36 Comments

The name Mara Wilson probably means nothing to you, and I’d never heard of her until today when I saw this headline:

Mara Wilson is Queer: Actress Felt
Moved To Say She’s One Of Us

Considering that this headline is from the lesbian feminist site Autostraddle, you might think “one of us” is a synonym for lesbian, except no, she’s “queer,” which is more like a synonym for bisexual maybe.

Actually, the word “queer” has become an elastic umbrella term that can mean anything or nothing except that Feminism Is Queer, as Professor Mimi Marinucci has explained. There may actually be heterosexual feminists out there in 2016, but if so, they seem to be extremely embarrassed about it. Heterosexuality is now practically a hate crime, according to Third Wave social justice feminism. While homosexuality is not yet mandatory for young feminists, none of them would dare say they’re against it, whereas every feminist now constantly spews venomous hatred toward heterosexual men. Merely being male makes you complicit in rape and patriarchal oppression, and no feminist ever wants to hear anything a heterosexual male has to say, so shut up.

OK, so who the heck is Mara Wilson, and why would anyone care that she is bisexual maybe? She was a child actress who appeared in five movies, including Mrs. Doubtfire (1993) when she was 6 and Matilda (1996) when she was 9. Now she writes books and posts pictures of her cat on Twitter, where she has 276,000 followers. So, after the Orlando shooting she Tweeted that “the LGBTQ community has always felt like home” and subsequently clarified by describing herself as a “2” (on the Kinsey Scale) and saying she has “embraced the Bi/Queer label lately.” Also, she made the point that she is “a left-leaning Jewish atheist.”

So to summarize, Mara Wilson is a typical 20-something feminist who hates Jesus and Republicans (not necessarily in that order) and whose hobbies are Communism, cunnilingus, and collecting cats.

This has been your daily Non-Heterosexual Semi-Celebrity Update.

You’re welcome, America.

Ya know, I like the idea of an update like this, something like Wombat’s In The Mailbox but focusing on this kind of nonsense.

I’m planning to subscribe to The Rubin Report for $5/month. I’m willing to subscribe to TOM on PayPal or Patron for the same amount.

To paraphrase something I just posted on another site…

Look at me look at me! I’m queer too!
The narcissism of these folk is reprehensible. The lengths to which they will go to remain in the spotlight are boundless. And she’s not the only one to try this tactic at this time.

    Well done, Mara.

This reminds me of an acquaintance in the 70s who declared herself a militant lesbian one year and then five years later, she shows up at school reunion heterosexually married and with a child.

    Just A Fad.

This sounds like some publicist’s idea. “Hey, I know how to get you back in the limelight!!!!!! We’ll announce you’re queer or something in ‘solidarity’ (yeah, I don’t know what the “F” that means either) with those people who got shot!!!!!!!! It will be great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

Out of all the left-leaning Jewish atheists in the English-speaking world, some, I assume, are not queer.

But it isn’t worthy of an announcement. Okay, yeah, now tell us something that we wouldn’t guess.

Wilson appeared in a video in which she talks about the mental illnesses she has experienced, including anxiety, depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder.[38]

[faceplam] No, that doesn’t count. It was entirely guessable.

This was my first reaction to the headline. I had to check IMDb to see who the heck she was.

Not that I really care, but has she been diagnosed with these illnesses by a licensed professional, and has she been under treatment?

I ask only because with these people (by which I mean internet attention whores) it’s a badge of honor to have mental illness, and much of it, so far as I can tell, is entirely self diagnosed and untreated. You say you are, oh heck, bipolar with a side of OCD and BAM! Instant victim!

Plus it provides yet another cudgel to attack critics with. “Go ahead and hate, those of us struggling with Celiac Disease have all learned to live with your bigotry.”

This, “I’ll announce I’m [fill-in-the blank] business became passé about three minutes after Ellen DeGeneres did it years ago. Now, it’s sort of like me calling a press conference to announce I’ll not be engaged in a ménage à trois with Angelina Jolie and Cindy Crawford.

Interesting factoid: according to Wikipedia, she is a cousin to Ben Shapiro.

She has a book coming out apparently. Could this be a simple case of whoring for publicity? I’m not saying it’s not. But I’m not not saying it’s not either. 😉

FWIW Mara’s FAQ page just lists her agents for books and voice-overs, so she is apparently realistic about her grown-up face. But she has a book Where Am I Now? available for pre-order.

“..Merely being male makes you complicit in rape and patriarchal oppression, and no feminist ever wants to hear anything a heterosexual male has to say, so shut up…”

You MUST start using the word WHITE more often.
This it should be “WHITE heterosexual male”…you may if you wish (to make it more accurate) use the word Christian as well.
I have NO idea if Mara Wilson, Jessica Valenti or Amanda Marcotte (or any other feminist in the world) have described THIS as a symbol of patriarchal oppression…..since these guys are neither White nor Christians.
I for one will “shut up” and become a simple bystander when these guys come for these women….

She has been promoting herself to younger audiences like this for a while now so don’t be surprised she has that many followers.

She appears on youtube shows and wrote an article for Cracked a while ago. I stopped reading Cracked after it slid into full SJW mode, but it would have random people write articles about weird life experiences or jobs and I think she did one about what it is like to be a Hollywood child star,

Ironically this obsession with self diagnosing several mental illnesses probably indicates some kind of mental illness in itself…but I digress…

It boggles a sane mind why these people laud the concept of being severely mentally unbalanced. They seem to think the more people identify as having an organic mental illness that can’t be cured the more progress we’re making as a society. They are too stupid to see the self fullfiling aspect of labeling one’s self in this way. If you insist you are depressed, anxious, and compulsive as part of an organic defect guess what!? You will act in ways that confirm your belief. The more people we have clamoring to claim multiple organic mental illness identities the worse society will become. These people can’t work, need treatment, need housing, need support, need therapy, need drugs, need special protection, etc, etc, etc… What they need is to be told to sort themselves out and quit being petulant asshats.

I’m not saying all mental illness is phony (schizophrenia/bipolar being two obvious ones) but it beggars belief that such huge swathes of society have these specific illnesses as an intrinsic biological defect.

I would suggest to feminists that perhaps they’re anxious and depressed due to the lack of a strong patriarch to make them feel wanted and safe.

I’ve tipped $60 ($20 x 3) over the past 6 months or so. A $5/month subscription would give another $60 over the next year without me doing anything special.

BTW I’m not seeing a PayPal button on this page. Not sure where the problem might be…

    June 15th, 2016 @ 4:09 pm

If you’ll notice – below the banner, the page is divided into 3 columns. In the second column, look just a few lines down from the top of the page, and/or use your ‘find’ feature in your browser (if it has one) to find “HIT THE FREAKING TIP JAR!”. You’ll find the button right there, in all it’s golden glory. 😉

The button is labeled “Donate” and is in the column below “McCain” in the pager header. Just scroll down ’til you see it. It isn’t far.

I’m reading the mobile version. Normally the DONATE button appears between the end of the post and the Amazon ad.

It does appear in the previous Marcotte post, and I tested it by tipping another $20.

Eagerly scouring the Internet for the basic theological tenets of Jewish atheism, but even the net is telling me I’m an ijit for trying to find facts about such an obvious oxymoron.
