. . . and you’ll find a photo of Rick Gervais, who is solicited by the Wall Street Journal to contribute a column, “A Holiday Message from Ricky Gervais: Why I’m An Atheist.”

A Freudian would have a field day with a column in which Gervais rambles on and on about being an 8-year-old boy growing up in a working-class home in Reading, England. His childish rebellion, fenced around with self-justifying rationalizations, becomes the impregnable fortress of his worldview, and anyone who disagrees is a figure of ridicule, like his poor ignorant Mum.
