Trifecta is well worth your time. The rotating Kirk/Spock/McCoy chemistry of the three amigos plays well in serving up the abuse for the #OccupyWallNuts. I’m giving Whittle the Kirk role here, cheerfully telling the tools to get out of the toolbox and get a job. Green has the McCoy role, working hard, trying to empathize with a sad herd of sheep, and Ott does a Spock-tacular job of synthesizing the two, and offering a warning that the tentacles on the friendly guy handing out the money to support the protest signs that say ‘Brought to you by Cthulhu’ may be an indicator.

Meanwhile, over at Heritage, we find this:

Stand aside, citizen-protestors. The Occupy Wall Street movement is about to get professional help. New York City labor unions have decided to join the demonstrations. Members of the Service Employees International Union and the United Federation of Teachers, among other unions, will soon be marching with the protestors.

Why is the union movement making common cause with disgruntled students?

Because these protests are useful vehicles. Unions can use them to marshal support for special-interest policies that benefit them.

Read the whole thing. A private sector union is a company without a product. A public sector union is a civil service mutiny. I’m not opposed to the former, insofar as liberty means the freedom to do even the stupidest things. However, a company without a product must be allowed to feel the winter cold on the bare bottom of their idiocy. Capitalism lives or dies on the feedback. In particular, the private sector unions must be prevented from injecting their idiocy into public sector contexts.

An even smarter one would be asking how are they planning on using these protesters in 2012 to subvert the elections. My hunch is that these protests aren’t about accomplishing anything right now except to flex their muscles, test out the police, and see which supporters “they” (the White House) can count on.
In short: #OccupyWallStreet is a dry run for November 2012.

How many of the unemployed in the crowd will make the connection between exclusive union shops and lack of right to work laws, and diminished job opportunities? How many will understand that trade unions exist to protect members of the unions, even if it means driving up the cost of products and services to consumers?
As they tearfully mourn the loss of Steve Jobs, how many will wonder why Jobs was so against unions, and fought a long battle to keep unions out of Apple? As they tweet the revolution from their iPhones and iPads, how many will realize that these devices may not ever have come into being but for Apple’s fight against some of the very unions marching along side them?

Ladd may be right. But I think what this is about is diverting attention from more pesky things. How about Fast and Furious? I would think the last thing the White House would want in an election year is an independent prosecutor charging Eric Holder with perjury.

So the death of Steve Jobs, Sarah Palin not getting in, and now crazy lefty protestors are diverting attention. Lest momentum start building for a special prosecutor.

The main problem with corporations is that once a company becomes public, profit at any cost becomes the only criteria to operate.

ESOP (employee share ownership plan) is another model more plentiful. But any company that goes public responds only to greed.

That’s why we need to keep the banks off Wall Street. Imho, the only aim of Occupy Wall St. should be to regulate it better, and keep banks from gambling in Wall St. casino.

I’m sure there is more than one definition for “cunt repenter,” but from my pov, at least, the most prominent definition of “cunt repenter” that comes to mind is that of a horny GOP Congressman who got caught soliciting a hooker in Washington DC and who trots his doormat wife out to face the TV cameras with him and looks straight into the cameras while keeping a very straight face (while his dopey ass wife stares blankly ahead, like a deer caught in the headlights) and says, “I know I’m not perfect, and that I’ve sinned against the Lord and have brought shame and heartbreak to the woman I love most in the world. But I know that with Jesus’ help and the support of my fellow Americans, I can resist this urge to snag some extra-marital pussy from time to time. No questions please. Hiring folks in developing countries with less than your minimum wages, no benefits packages, etc. etc.

They’ve already let all the *unnecessary* folks go.. you know the ones making a good wage, good benefits. And hiring? If the teapartyers had their way, the minimum wage would be gone. Why pay $14/hr when you can get 3 workers for the price of one. (Except they won’t, everyone is doing 3 jobs to make up for the decline in rehiring.) Yup, that’s the answer. Ya think the top brass are ever going to take a pay cut, a wage-frieze?

And where might you think the middle class is going? A young person might make a very good earning in his current job, However, what about his 401 K investments, that now might be worth about 1/3 of what they were? How long do you think corporations are going to match the funds in order to squeeze the next trillions out of the *upper middle class*. There’s nothing to squeeze out of the poor, the lower or middle middle class.

I understand the struggles of a small business owner who must rely on those who have spending power. However, when you cry poor corporations, the manipulation and the welfare corporate fraud, all over America, after some initial research, you think I don’t know some things that most folks don’t? Including you.

The point is, some people bitch and moan about the cards that life deals them and the shitty hand they subsequently have to play, while others suck it up and do the best they can under circumstances that they can neither dictate nor control.

That’s not to say a little venting here and there is not warranted or is not a good idea, in fact, just to blow off steam.

So – last month the “protestors” were all over Wisconsin, claiming they cared about getting more pay for teachers – now they are in Wall St. pushing students to default on their student loans.

I wonder if they grok the disconnect here. Do they understand that what the students PAY FOR THEIR EDUCATION is what PAYS THE TEACHER’S SALARIES.

If I were a left-wing professor – I’d be having a come-to-Jesus moment with myself, and maybe just maybe I’d start singing a different tune to my students.

Before my University closed down and I was out of a job.

And I was a reporter, I’d be seriously thinking about what happens when all the businesses are gone – no ad revenue, no paper, no job.
