Tapper Makes Carney Eat BHO’s Remarks About Romney’s Dog

Props to Jake Tapper for playing the Seamus card on über-tool Jay Carney:This is a Mark-1, Mod-0 interaction with a Progressive munch:

  1. Progressive makes some high-minded claim,
  2. Progressive confronted with the reality that facts belie the high-minded claim,
  3. Progressive does one of:
    • posit some artificial distinction
    • whine about context
    • changes the subject
    • play the ‘everybody is guilty‘ card

If all you’re going to be in life is a sad little munch, Carney, please consider falling off the planet.

The point is bigger than that: Carney brought up and confirmed the “Obama eats dog meat” story. Unforced error on Doogie Howser, Jr.

He also ridiculed any idea of Biden stepping down. It’s not in the clip, but I think his exact words were, “The President is 1000% behind Tom Eagleton!”

Did Jay Carney just say it’s OK to make jokes about the President eating dogs? Open season.

What in the hell have you done to the comments now.

I don’t mind the new look of the actual comments so much as the disappearance of the Trackback link and the annoying ALSO ON THE OTHER MCCAIN section.

We Masters Of The FMJRA Demand Our Trackback Back!

Also, I just noticed the sorting of the comments is reversed, and that’s damn annoying.

Second parallel: “Progressive” makes some attack on conservative; progressive confronted with fact that progressive politician(s) did the same exact thing being condemned; progressive squawks “False equivalency! False equivalency!!”

Why did Obama buy a Greyhound?

    He wanted fast food.

Why did Obama buy a St. Bernard?

He wanted brandy with his food.

Why did Obama buy a Chihuahua?

    He was on a diet.

What did Obama say after eating a sled dog?

    It tastes like mush.

Why did Obama eat snakes and locust?

He was out of dog meat.

I think “sad little munch” is the majority of the job description for WH press secretary.

I also like Carney’s comment about “one allusion in three different speeches.” I wasn’t a math major, but I believe that 1 x 3 = 3. From Obamacare, I knew they could double-count things. But 1/3-count?

Get real, Carney. Obama’s entire campaign is based on the LOOK! SQUIRREL! strategy.

Thanks for this. I just can’t watch. It makes me physically ill to watch the little munch do his pathetic little dance. I just have to click away.

Look on the bright side. Nixon’s press secretary (Ron Ziegler?) went down in history with “That statement is inoperative.” Carney could be the source of the next infamous one-liner.

I haven’t gotten used to the new comments format implemented last November, I doubt I’ll get used to this either. Oh well, I find I have less to say lately anyway.

number of times obama has referred to seamus, in the past year, is probably three times as many as he has discussed, let alone considered, our troops in afghanistan.
liberals care more about a dog than the 1450 soldiers who have been killed in afghanistan since the messiah ascended, in what has become, unquestionably, nation building.(a word search of the number of mentions of ‘seamus’ v. ‘afghanistan’ in dailykos would prove my point)
    ask obama, or his spokesman:
how many us soldiers have been killed by the people they are training?
libs are useless, but imho, romney/ryan needs to go after obama on afghanistan. wtf are the conservatives on this matter?
why do we need 95k in country, when even the ‘neo-con hawks’ kept it at 25k, if we aren’t nation building?
never fear, we draw down to 68k in 2014, under the obama plan.
as it stands now, obama will have 4 of the top 6 years of military expenditure between his and bush’s tenure .
looking for 719 billion for medicare?
we are over 400 billion into afghanistan, under obama, at the close of 2012.
maybe hrc has missed it, but the big game in the middle-east is in syria. everyone with terrorist organization is scrambling into the country to try and cut themselves a slice of the pie.
it’s a hell of a lot easier to shell israel from syria, than it is from afghanistan.

I mind virtually everything about this new format. I still mind the format changes made last November. Perhaps it’s just as well I’ve had little to say lately.

Carney will die rich. He’s such a good bullshi&&er that he’ll be able to sell progtard doofusses anything, once he is evicted from suckling at the public teat. It’s a wonder of the ages how liberals can’t tell when they’re being lied to, but we have decades of proof that they are incapable of detecting and/or recognizing the truth, even when it smacks them upside their empty noggin’.

“..eating dog meat in Indonesia, because that’s something that’s done there”
We no it isn’t just, “”done there” Dog meat can be obtained if one is very discrete. It is frowned upon and if one is Muslim, forbidden!

In my much younger days when I was much more adventurous (reckless) and determined to try everything at least once, I persuaded a non-Muslim Indonesian to arrange dog meat dinner.
He took me to the seediest food market in the seediest part of town and to the only stall with the flaps mysteriously down so you couldn’t see in. Ate in semi darkness, sweltering heat and claustrophobic silence with half a dozen eyes staring at me through the gloom. Came out and every face was looking disapprovingly at both of us.
My young Indonesian friend who was very much a rebel laughed at them and swaggered along but later told me not to mention to anyone what I did or especially that he took me.

So no, from my experience in central Java thirty years ago it was not common or accepted in any way.

Dog tasted awful by the way. Some fava beans and a nice Chianti may have helped.

Most often you will see them reject the facts first, and then ask a rhetorical question.
