TV Won’t Show You the Pictures, But the Reddit/4Chan Guys Have Apparently ID’d the Boston Marathon Bombing Suspects

Posted on | April 17, 2013 | 31 Comments

After watching Fox and CNN dance around the subject — “We’ve seen the photos that the FBI doesn’t want released to the public” — and doing some careful comparison of descriptions available here and there . . .

Yep, I guess these are the (alleged) bombers the feds are after.

So, if the feds don’t want the suspects to get spooked by what’s on cable TV, then they must be hoping the (alleged) bombers don’t have Internet access — despite the fact that these guys (allegedly) built bombs based on plans they (allegedly) found on the Internet.

Does this make sense?

Go look at the photo slideshow of yourselves, Guys With Heavy-Looking Backpacks Near the Marathon Finish Line!

And if the FBI gets mad at me for pointing out the ridiculous stupidity of pretending we can’t add 2 + 2 and get “4,” hey, I’m just a blogger in my pajamas, not a million-dollar-a-year cable-TV news star. SWAT me, OK?

Interesting pics. I read the one from the security commission guy saying Boston was a planned event to help get the gun control agenda moved along. Now the link is saying “unavailable.” And with Obama’s little speech today about control….all very interesting.

Kudos to McCain for some of the only coverage in the last two days that bears any actual resemblance to “news” or “reporting.”

If we could round up the bombers, the leakers in LE who have been talking to media on the down-low instead of actually doing their jobs, and the worthless MSM and cable news jerks who have botched this story worse than any since Katrina, put them all in a decommissioned submarine, and sink it, the world would be a better place.

This is messed up. i am not a conspiracy freak, but what in God’s name is going on? Saudi being deported, no FBI presser, and Obama quite a bit more disturbed over his gun ban loss then terrorism at Marathon. These pics make sense to me.

The conspiracy stuff I’m hearing about — and possible interpretations of this strange reluctance of federal law enforcement to publish photos of SUSPECTED TERRORISTS — is enough to make anybody paranoid.

You are, however, kicking journalistic ass.

not being blocked, servers stuff — couple of links

The Boston Marathon bombing investigation, now in its third day, is not just the largest crime scene in the city’s history — it’s the most crowdsourced terror investigation in American history. http://www.theatlanticwire.com/national/2013/04/reddit-and-4chan-are-boston-bomber-case/64312/

Just in case Reddit’s sense of self-importance wasn’t inflated enough, the online community has taken to playing FBI dress-up, creating a subreddit called/r/findbostonbombers that’s “dedicated to helping find the bomber(s)” behind Monday’s tragedy. — http://betabeat.com/2013/04/of-course-reddit-is-analyzing-who-was-behind-the-boston-attacks/

Can someone explain something to me? There are photos of two security personnel in those pictures. The black and khaki guys. They’re all over the place and they’re on their cell phones a lot. And they’re practically on top of one of the bomb sites.

So…has anyone found a single photo of either of them having been injured? I mean, did they just magically escape the blast? Are these two guys just the luckiest fuckers at the marathon? Or did they walk away from their post right before the bombs went off?

Seriously. Can someone find me a photo of these two guys with injuries? Or at least their general location at the time of the blast.

I am shocked that ICE remembers how to deport someone. Where are the immigration lawyers to protect the “saudis” rights and delay the deportation?

Kind of weird that they cancelled after the gun bill went down in flames. I’m an analyst by nature, but I’m starting wonder.

The matching boots and tactical pants dudes clearly know each other. But Boston PD has already acknowledged they had undercover staff working the crowds, and there were probably other agencies doing the same. Boston PD’s were purportedly for pickpocket control, but the others were probably looking for more dangerous things. In at least one photo one of them is back against the wall – in a position more effective for scanning the crowd, than watching the race. That they may have escaped injury is not terribly surprising. There were hundreds of people close to the bombs who also escaped injury. So far it appears injuries were limited to people standing very close to the bombs when they went off.

The other pair who seem to be obliquely conversing – the ones in the black shirt/white ball cap, and the striped blue jogging jacket are interesting, even more so if it’s the same black shirt/white hat guy who shows up again, with no backpack. Although given the way his arms are held forward and down, he might have the bag in his hands.

The bearded guy isn’t too interesting. Holding the backpack with his arm bent means he is either extremely strong, or the bag probably isn’t heavy enough to be holding one of the bombs.

But honestly, it would seem best if anyone who was on that street, that day, with any kind of package, got themselves a lawyer, got the bag they had that day, and took them both down to their nearest FBI office ASAP.

And, if for some honest reason, you don’t have that bag anymore? Bring two lawyers.

What 4chan has is the tip of tip of a very big iceberg of photo/video evidence. The investigators are probably piecing it all together into a timeline of the street that day. Then they’ll break everything down into sections, and start tracking the movements of every person visible. Where and when they entered the street, where they went, and if & when they departed.

They are going to try to account for every uniquely identifiable person on the street that day – that is going to take tremendous time and effort.

But, if it’s a lone wacko operation they’ll probably pick him out fairly quickly, then spend more time ruling out any potential accomplices.

If its a group effort, especially if they are trained, it could take a very long time identifying suspects, much less putting names to faces.

So … has Brett Kimberlin accounted for his whereabouts on the 15th?

He’s already been previously convicted of planting bombs a) in trash bins, b) at the aft end of sporting events, c) resulting in amputations. I’m thinking the feds might want to have a word or three with him, at least.

    Just sayin’ …

Well, now Reddit has blocked links to personal info on their “suspects,” at least one of whom has contacted the FBI to clear his name, it seems they may be bystanders.
