FMJRA 2.0: Draft Delays

— compiled by Wombat-socho

The draft in Pete’s league is being pushed back to the 4th (at least) since one of the managers is out of the country. This actually works well for me since what with the run to Las Vegas this week for podiatry I spent absolutely no time reviewing the free agents. Also, tax season is just a few months away and I really need to buckle down and take care of my continuing education.

Collective Grievance, Collective Guilt, Collective Rage: A Case Study

Posted on | September 20, 2025 | Comments Off on Collective Grievance, Collective Guilt, Collective Rage: A Case Study

What’s wrong with the Democratic Party? There are two ways to approach this question. Democrats ask what’s wrong with their party in order to fix it, so that they can win more elections. Republicans ask the question in order to make the argument that nobody should vote for that dysfunctional trainwreck of a party. Because some of my friends and relatives are Democrats, I am always available to encourage them to sulk and pout and grumble about their party’s problems whenever Democrats lose. Like, counseling the young “Bernie Bro” fellows: “Democrats are sold out to their corporate donors!” Or advising my Jewish Democrat friends: “Kamala might have won if she’d had Josh Shapiro as her VP, but she had to pander to the Hamas caucus in Michigan.” Just doing my part to stoke grassroots discontent and demoralization. Anyway . . .

This week we started getting excerpts from Kamala Harris’s new book, in which she accepts zero responsibility for getting Donald Trump re-elected, and instead points the finger of blame elsewhere. Such is the background situation that sparked this online colloquy:

VeeCeeMurphy76: “I really don’t need white people tone policing Kamala Harris when their demographic is responsible for why we’re here.”
WendyDFW78: “So we need to treat Kamala Harris differently because she’s a Black woman? Is that the message? It is not white people’s fault that Harris lost.”
VeeCeeMurphy76: “Go cry to your people about it.”

You need seek no further for an answer to the question, “What’s wrong with the Democratic Party?” That’s it, right there.

The fundamental organizing principle of the Democratic Party is, and arguably always has been, to scour the landscape in search of people with grievances against whatever the status quo might be at any given moment, to persuade these people to view themselves as a distinct and coherent class, and then to promise them that the only solution to their collective problem is simple: Vote Democrat!

Among the several predictable consequences of this political strategy is that, first of all, people will begin to view election outcomes as a measure of their own well-being — if Democrats win, “we” win, but if Democrats lose, “we” lose. And it doesn’t matter which constituent identity grouping is your membership ticket in the party, this sense that you’re better off simply because Democrats win elections (or suffering because Republicans win) is the same. That’s the psychological identity trap which Democrats construct by the nature of their rhetoric.

Once you see this for what it is, and step back from your personal feelings — to assess the truth claims of Democratic Party rhetoric objectively and rationally — you begin to understand a lot of things that otherwise don’t make sense. Why, for example, does VeeCeeMurphy76 consider herself entitled to insult white people categorically, and to respond so rudely to WendyDFW78? Both of them are Democrats and the underlying question is: “Why did Democrats lose the 2024 election?”

If you wish to understand why this exchange between two Democrats is so hostile, I recommend you read Eric Hoffer’s 1951 classic The True Believer: Thoughts on the Nature of Mass Movements. Hoffer observes that collectivist and/or totalitarian movements tend to attract certain types of people — “Misfits,” “The Inordinately Selfish,” etc. — and once you’ve read his analysis, you will never see politics the same again. Hoffer’s insight confirms the observations of Friedrich Hayek about “Why the Worst Get on Top” (Chapter 10 of The Road to Serfdom).

While I could write thousands of words on that subject, the immediate point is how the blame-game among Democrats over the 2024 election is doomed to failure because of this collectivist groupthink problem. Millions of Democrats are committed to a belief structure in which Kamala Harris cannot be responsible for her own defeat. She is a WOC (woman of color) and therefore any criticism of her is racist and misogynist. To someone like VeeCeeMurphy76, there can be only one answer to why Kamala lost, and that answer is white people. By contrast, WendyDFW78 seems to believe that maybe Democrats would win more elections if they actually tried to get more votes from white people.

Having walked away from the Democratic Party about 30 years ago, I smile in amusement at such quarrels among Democrats. Do I want them to win more elections? No, I do not, and therefore refuse to offer them any helpful advice. As far as I’m concerned, they should continue nominating dingbats like Kamala Harris forever, and should spend the rest of their lives blaming each other for their predictable defeats.

We’re All Shocked — Shocked! — to Learn That the Democrat Who Tried to Murder Brett Kavanaugh Is a Psychotic Tranny

Posted on | September 19, 2025 | Comments Off on We’re All Shocked — Shocked! — to Learn That the Democrat Who Tried to Murder Brett Kavanaugh Is a Psychotic Tranny

Honestly, it caught me by surprise, but after the initial shock, I realized it was entirely predictable:

The man who attempted to kill Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh identifies as a transgender woman and was deeply mentally ill and suicidal, according to court documents first obtained by The Daily Wire.
The Department of Justice is recommending that the defendant, 29-year-old Nicholas Roske, be sentenced to 30 years in prison for attempting to kill the Supreme Court justice in 2022, according to a Friday filing outlining the case against Roske. Roske pled guilty to the attempt to kill a United States Supreme Court Justice in April 2025, three years after authorities arrested him in Kavanaugh’s neighborhood, carrying a bag full of weapons and burglary tools.
A filing from Roske’s defense attorneys shows that Roske now goes by “Sophie Roske” and that his legal team will refer to him using female pronouns. A footnote on the filing, obtained exclusively by The Daily Wire, explains that the defense will not use Roske’s legal name “out of respect” for the would-be assassin.
“The case is captioned as United States v. Nicholas John Roske,” lawyers for Roske state. “That name remains Ms. Roske’s legal name, and she has not asked to recaption the case. Out of respect for Ms. Roske, the balance of this pleading and counsel’s in-court argument will refer to her as Sophie and use female pronouns.” . . .

(We wouldn’t want to “misgender” or “dead-name” the murderous lunatic, would we? That would be . . . wrong.)

Roske was using female identities online before the attempted murder, and now goes by the female name reflected in the defense filings.
Attorney General Pam Bondi told The Daily Wire that the attack is viewed as “political violence” and referred to Roske as a “disturbed individual.”
“This attempt against the life of a Supreme Court Justice was an attack on the entire judicial system that cannot go unpunished,” Bondi told The Daily Wire on Friday morning. “This Department of Justice condemns political violence and our prosecutors will ensure that this disturbed individual faces severe consequences for his deranged actions.” . . .

(So, Nicholas Roske started “using female identities online,” and then decided to murder a Supreme Court justice, because that’s what a real woman would do. Is that the defense argument?)

Though it was reported in 2022 that Roske portrayed himself as a self-styled “trans gamer girl” on the internet, more information about the attempted assassin’s gender identity has not been made available to the public. Roske’s story had largely vanished from public scrutiny, other than occasional updates on his sentencing and charges.
The Friday DOJ filings show that Roske “meticulously researched, planned, and attempted to assassinate at least one — but had a stated target of three — sitting judges of the United States Supreme Court” with the “explicit objective” of “single-handedly” altering “the Constitutional order for ideological ends.” He conducted internet searches for the homes of the four Justices, purchased a Glock 17 pistol, ammunition, a rail-mounted tactical light with laser sight, tactical gloves, non-slip grip socks, cable ties, pepper spray, a lock pick set, a screwdriver, and a wrecking bar.
“My mental health is too poor for me to fear death,” he wrote on Discord on March 18, 2022, to another user, according to the DOJ filing. “But prison sounds worse. To be monitored to the point where you can’t even kill yourself. So if I did kill someone I would definitely try to get away with it.”
In April 2022, he was googling shooting videos, school shooting videos, mass shootings, and shooters, searching how to “buy guns online” and “which person’s death would have the biggest impact on the world?”

You can read the whole thing at The Daily Wire. Has anybody else commented how strange it is that someone who acknowledged his own mental health issues would, instead of seeking help from a sane person, instead decided to discuss his problems with a fellow weirdo on Discord? But that’s how it is with deranged Democrats nowadays — they’re all 24/7 online, chatting with their fellow lunatics. And what I’ve been telling you for years is now more true than ever: Crazy People Are Dangerous.

‘The Normal-American Community’ and the Demonic Horde Who Love Death

Posted on | September 19, 2025 | Comments Off on ‘The Normal-American Community’ and the Demonic Horde Who Love Death

They came swarming out of the depths of Hell, saying the most cruel, false and hateful things that occurred to their degenerate minds — Charlie Kirk had been assassinated and Democrats were celebrating like children opening gifts on Christmas morning. Of course, it’s not as if I’ve ever felt bound to be respectful toward dead Democrats.

“Mary Jo Kopechne could not be reached for comment” was a viral sensation back in Ye Olde Blogspot Days, but Ted Kennedy died of old age, rather than being assassinated by a political enemy. And this is the problem with the vile hatred which emerged after Charlie Kirk’s death — i.e., the de facto endorsement of the assassination by so many rank-and-file grassroots Democrats. They are happy Charlie Kirk is dead and, in their Bluesky echo-chamber, began compiling lists of other conservatives they would like to see murdered: Matt Walsh, Ben Shapiro, et al.

What is so strange about this is that Charlie Kirk wasn’t a fringe extremist, a fact Professor Glenn Reynolds notes:

Charlie’s views — uniformly disparaged by the press as “far right” — are in fact mainstream, generally held by the majority of people. His assassination has caused people to step forward, and realize that the normal-American community is a huge majority.

Indeed, and yet the people whose first impulse upon hearing about Charlie’s death was to post bloodthirsty celebrations to social media somehow don’t realize that this “normal-American community” exists.

Normal-Americans don’t have any rights, according to the warped worldview that controls the Democratic Party, where “rights” are only possessed by members of officially recognized Victim Groups. If you disagree with their ideology, Democrats denounce you as guilty of “hate,” and as their gleeful celebrations of Charlie Kirk’s death demonstrate, they endorse violence against anyone who opposes them. Secluding themselves in online bubbles where everyone shares the delusions symptomatic of Trump Derangement Syndrome, these people simply can’t come to grips with the fact that it is they who are the extremist fringe, rather than millions who believe what Charlie Kirk believed.

Say hello to Kate Ecke, whose gross remarks about Charlie Kirk are featured at the top of this post. Ms. Ecke is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who, until Wednesday, was also employed part-time as an adjunct instructor at Rider University in New Jersey:

Kate Ecke, a social work adjunct professor at Rider, was abruptly fired on Sept. 17, according to a universitywide email from Rider President John Loyack, which did not name Ecke directly.
In the email, Loyack wrote, “Today, Rider University took swift and decisive action to terminate an adjunct faculty member whose behavior did not reflect our expectations for respectful and civil engagement. During our review of this matter, several individuals at Rider received a threat directed at our campus as a result of this individual’s actions.”
Rider’s Vice President of External Affairs Kristine Brown declined to comment, stating it was a personnel matter and she could not disclose additional information.
In an interview with The Rider News, Ecke said that the reasoning for her termination was not because of anything she said in the classroom or on university grounds, but rather what she posted on her personal Facebook account following the murder of conservative political activist, Charlie Kirk.
Ecke said, “This is just my personal Facebook and my own personal views about what’s happening in the world right now.” . . .
In one of her Facebook posts, Ecke wrote: “I don’t care that Charlie Kirk got shot. Kids are being slaughtered in their classrooms and the same people crying outrage for him have nothing to say when it’s children in body bags. Spare me the hypocrisy. Charlie Kirk chose his platform—those kids never chose to die at school.”
In other posts, Ecke said, she was calling for nonviolence: “Mouth breathers: the whole message here is that no one deserves to be shot. At school. In a movie theatre. In a library. You’re missing the whole point of this.”
Another post read, “For everyone saying ‘Charlie Kirk didn’t deserve to die that way’: Welcome to the f—ing group chat. That’s what we have been saying all along. No one should be shot, ever. That’s like, the whole point of this conversation.”

Here’s what she posted after she got fired:

“I know I am on the right side of history. Social work is political. Education is political. Silence is complicity.”

What I did not mention previously is that Kate Ecke’s counseling “often incorporates tarot cards and spirituality into her sessions.”

To put it bluntly: Kate Ecke practices witchcraft.

Scoff at this, if you wish, but tarot is even more closely associated with the occult than astrology. My advice is to avoid anyone who dabbles in either of those arcane practices, and Kate Ecke’s boast of using tarot and “spirituality” as part of her clinical practice ought to be viewed as a red flag — “Warning: Avoid this witch!” If she’d confessed to using a Ouija board, it could not have undermined her professional credibility any worse, and yet a university hired her to teach social work classes?

Excuse me for taking occult practices seriously. If someone tells you they believe in tarot — well, what is it they believe? Isn’t Kate Ecke claiming access to a supernatural power which enables her to discover secrets and foretell the future via her tarot card readings? You may dismiss her as a superstitious fool, or you may believe — as I do — that such powers actually do exist, and that they’re not good powers. I refer you to Leviticus 19 and Isaiah 8 among the several biblical condemnations of witchcraft. To involve yourself in such practices is to seek the aid of Satanic forces, which puts you at peril and makes you a menace to others.

We live in evil times, and the destructive forces of evil are howling in rage that they can’t kill us all the way they killed Charlie Kirk.
