Arkansas Cops Kill Two Cop-Killers

After two West Memphis cops were killed, the perps were gunned down:

Two police officers were fatally shot and another two were wounded Thursday in two separate shootings allegedly by the same suspects in West Memphis, Arkansas, police said.
The two suspects, who were using an assault weapon, were themselves fatally shot, said Inspector Bert Shelton, who is assigned to city hall for the West Memphis Police Department. . . .
The gunbattle ended after “a very brave, young wildlife officer in his state truck rammed the suspect vehicle, preventing an exit of the suspects,” who were killed, Sadler said.

The cop-killers were reportedly father-and-son kooks with fringe-type connections who had been doing sketchy “mortgage fraud” seminars on how to avoid foreclosure:

Jerry Kane was arrested April 10 in Lincoln County, New Mexico, for concealing his identity and driving with a suspended/revoked driver’s license, said Walter Beall, chief of security for the sheriff’s office. Kane was released two days later after posting $1,500 bond. . . .
Ohio police records describe Kane as a burly man, 6-foot 2 and 230 pounds, and who for a time
at least sported a black beard.
Records show Kane had been arrested or cited with law violations six times in Clark County , Ohio , since 1983, on charges ranging from passing bad checks to criminal trespass, drunken driving and driving with expired tags. Kane was charged with felonious assault in 2004 after allegedly shooting a 13-year-old boy with a “handgun-style BB gun.’’ . . .

Kane’s “Mortgage Fraud” seminar involved classic crackpot conspiracy stuff — e.g., contracts are invalid because Federal Reserve Notes aren’t really money — preying on desperate people’s ignorance of legal and financial facts. On Page 3 of one 27-page document, Kane informs the reader:

Most people are not aware that there has been no lawful money since the bankruptcy of the United States in 1933.
Since House Joint Resolution 192 (HJR 192) (Public Law 73-10) was passed in 1933 we have only had debt, because all property and gold was seized by the government as collateral in the bankruptcy of the United States. . . . [Federal Reserve Notes are] NOT really “money”, it is debt, a promise to pay made by the United States! . . . There is absolutely no gold or silver backing the Federal Reserve Notes that we refer to as “money” today.

Right. So if the bank is foreclosing on your home, how is this kook stuff relevant to your situation? It’s not.

These are merely the bread crumbs on the Hansel-and-Gretel trail to Kookville, where this half-bright con man collected cash for telling less-than-half-bright suckers that there’s some magic way to avoid paying their mortgage. There are lots of videos of this guy’s seminars online. Here’s just a taste:

If you think you can beat a foreclosure with all that crackpot mumbo-jumbo, you’re a bigger fool than Peggy “Obama’s Gonna Pay My Mortgage” Joseph. The usual suspects are trying to turn this stuff into a “right-wing extremist” story, but Jerry Kane was simply a con man, an opportunistic predator taking advantage of fools with a something-for-nothing hustle.

Jim Hoft at Gateway Pundit has been on the story all day.

From just skimming this article, I suspect there is a very good chance Olbermann and others of his ilk will try to paint all conservatives and tea partiers with this (like they tried with that guy who flew his plane into the federal building).

This guy is just one more example of another American drawn to declare his own personal war against a government that has been at war with the people of the United States for decades. Incidents like this are to be expected, and to be expected with ever greater frequency, in Police State America.

righty? Dude, this is definitely not a case of Police State America, this is a case of nut jobs killing police officers and getting killed as a result.

There are cases of police over stepping and government infringing our liberties…this is not one of them. My guess is you are not really a “righty.”

Of course the Southern Poverty Law Center is calling this right wing already. I suspect “righty” above is a sock puppet (maybe a SPLC sock puppet).

Joe, I think you are right.Anyone with a handle, “righty” isn’t a “righty”. It’s my experience that only leftists call them that. They call themselves “conservatives”. Anyone using the handle is using a classic trolling attempt to paint themselves as something they are not. Yaaaaaawn.

Also Citzen Kane is reported to be 6-2 and 230 lbs. From those photographs, I am guessing he was closer to 300 lbs. I am sorry the 16 year old had a criminal nutjob for a father, but there are now two widows and kids who don’t have a father any more.

@ Joe, I suspect you are correct in respect to “righty.”

I have heard people before making these arguments about Admiralty Law, The U.S. is bankrupt idea, even that we’ve been in a state of Martial Law since the 1930’s. I suspect there is a band of somewhat educated people who use these ideas to play on people’s fears to make some bucks using seminars/books. I often see them banned on right-wing forums, because they’re advocating things that are simply untrue, or could get you into legal hot water.

    Steer clear of these people.
