Charles Bolden Under the Bus?

Posted on | July 13, 2010 | 16 Comments

He “misspoke”:

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said Monday that NASA Administrator Charles Bolden must have misspoken when he told Al Jazeera last month that one of his top priorities is to reach out to Muslim countries.
“That was not his task and that’s not the task of NASA,” Gibbs said.

Bolden either (a) accepts this public repudiation or (b) resigns.

Hey, since Bolden is a close personal friend of Smitty, maybe he could have a post-NASA career in blogging as our “space correspondent”!

Certainly, Robert Gibbs is always open and honest, so we can rely upon his word.

The Muslim outreach program is just an aside. I have no doubt that President Obama actually told Bolden to do that, but the real purpose of NASA is to prove that GLOBAL WARMING EXISTS and to hide the evidence that it doesn’t. Of course, it’s not scientific to do an “investigation” when the outcome has been predetermined — but the Progressives don’t care about facts, logic, or science. This is the NASA budget section from “Obama’s 2010 Federal Budget Explained in Plain English“:

National Aeronautics and Space Administration – $18.7 billion+$1 billion from the Recovery Act NASA is allocated nearly $20 billion (including funds from the Recovery Act) to do more than just explore space. NASA is partially responsible to help the US understand the effects of climate change on the planet.

•Development of new space-based sensors to conduct global climate research – exact amount not provided.

If memory serves this next shuttle will be the last. This justifies using our space program for Muslim outreach due to the fact that the only space program we have left are our ICBMs.
