What Causes Islamophobia

Posted on | November 15, 2010 | 19 Comments

Stuff like this:

Make no mistake: The reason that 3-year-old Mandy Simon had to be searched by TSA is Islam — and the politically-correct insistence that, in Ed Morrissey’s phrase, “everyone must suffer equally” in airport security.

UPDATE: Jeffrey Goldberg informs us that Nov. 24 is “National Opt-Out Day,” and urges people to (a) refuse the full-body scans and (b) fly “commando.”

Don’t fly. If you must, refuse the body scans. Civil disobediance and passive resistance ala MLK.

That video is painful to watch. I think it is worth noting however, that this sort of thing happens frequently and there would have been no news story if a reporters child had not been molested.

I rarely have a need to travel, but if I did, this would make me think twice about bringing my kids. Nobody puts their hands on my kids that way. It’s just creepy. Honestly, if I had been that mom, I don’t think I’d have tried to hold the girl still so they could run their hands all over her. I’d have found another way to get where I was going or canceled the trip.

People should boycott the airlines for all but flights of absolute necessity until they change their policies, and they should be really in your face about it. Let CAIT moan and whine. I can only think of one group of people that are likely to rig their own children up to explode.

It all comes down to the core Leftist belief that everyone and every thing must be equal. They see this as being the only ‘fair’ way for human beings to live.

To achieve equality, however, everyone and every thing must be brought down to the lowest level existing. Such thinking about equality brings nothing – absolutely nothing – but equal suffering and equal despair. It requires enslavement of the population because the human soul desires freedom which brings about [glorious] inequality.

An analogy would be the reaction to Arizona’s immigration law. All the law does is permit police to investigate if they have “reasonable suspicion” that someone might be an illegal. Honest people can admit that this “reasonable suspicion” will fall more often on Hispanics, and it will be an expected consequence that some legal residents will be scrutinized — “Can I see your ID?” — merely because they look Mexican. An annoying hassle, I’m sure, and one can understand that the legal resident so scrutinized would be indignant.

But instead of discussing this honestly, the Left screams “RAAAAACISM!” and claims that the new law is Kristalnacht for brown people. And this kind of behavior by the Left, I assert, causes prejudice against Hispanics that would not otherwise exist.

This has nothing to do with political correctness and Islam. This is about corporatism, power and control. Chertoff had scanners to sell and our government, like all governments in all of history, wants power and control. Islam is simply an excuse.

As long as we’re willing to make excuses, or cut one political party slack, nothing of significance will ever change. Our Founder’s didn’t say, well, “if the King didn’t have to fight that war …” The only people on the planet who have violated your rights and stole your property are the 545 in Washington DC, and it’s a bipartisan effort.

And Kurt Vonnegut thought he was being SARCASTIC when he wrote “Harrison Bergeron”.

Any action that creates, or at least asserts the existence of, a “protected class” of society is bound to cause some severe resentment on the part of those who do not benefit from being members of it.

If my TSA groper looked like this*, I would have less of a problem with it. Safety first!

Then again, my wife would definitely have a problem with it.

    * DEFINITELY not safe for work or wife.

Absolutely correct, and well said. But they’ve also managed to create a culture of hate along with their culture of fear, and no amount of reason will overcome it. We’re headed for advocating genocide rather than addressing our failed foreign policy.

I just discovered that work via a commentator over at my site [THE CAMP OF THE SAINTS in case you didn't know] and look forward to reading it, especially with your recommendation as well.

This obsession with Equality by so many [ie: wanting the most boring world possible] confirms me in my belief that Nihilism is the root of such thinking – a hatred of life.

I recently wrote a post about this called The Skivvy on Naked Body Scanners. I’m glad to see more people bringing up Chertoff”s new gig since he first had these things on order when he was Sec. of Homeland, and that is The Chertoff Group. This company is working with Rapiscan Systems, the manufacturers of the scanners, to promote and expand them.

It is now admitted by the State Department that the underwear bomber was allowed onto the plane with their full knowledge and permission. He was being escorted by an agent. Did that agent loose sight of him long enough for him to stuff his underwear, or as the eyewitnesses, claim the guy was too drugged to know what was happening to him? It’s an important question as the first massive order for the scanners happened just ONE WEEK after this incident.
