    Here’s the thing, Bob: I don’t even like cats.

    In fact, I hate cats. Yet, notorious cat-hater though I am, even I  cannot deny that this is a cute kitten video.

     The animosity many conservatives have for cats baffles me.  They are fiercely individualistic and independent.  Even a well fed cat will hunt down and kill its own food, so cats are self-motivated and do not depend on the dole.

    Dogs on the other hand are pack animals who will quickly fall in line behind a dominant leader, will do menial, demeaning tasks for minimal treats or even meager praise, will blame themselves when abused, and are generally dependent on humans their owners for everything.

    Why are dogs so much more preferable to conservatives?  I, for one, have always appreciated the libertarian sensibilities of cats.
