The Only Man Who Can Save Liberty in America

NASHUA, N.H.
Ron Paul just concluded a rally here in the hangar at Nashua Jet Aviation and the crowd was enormous. Afterwards, I talked to three young guys who drove up from New Jersey for the chance to see their hero. They’ve been Paulistas since 2007 and I told them, honestly, it’s good to see kids excited about liberty.

There will be a Ron Paul press conference in about 10 minutes. Here’s a photo of Paul’s fans doing their thing outside last night’s Rick Santorum event in Windham.

UPDATE II: It’s always nice to run into a familiar fact on the campaign trail. In this case, it’s my libertarian buddy John LaBeaume:

John’s nickname for me is “Hate Crime.” My nickname for him is “Melungeon.” While I was sitting here working, he kept up a non-stop patter of jokes about me being the secret ghostwriter of certain newsletters. The dude is hilarious, but also a brilliant political analyst.

Say what you will about Ron Paul, no other Republican candidate inspires such fanatical enthusiasm. Here is video of the crowd inside the hangar chanting, “President Paul!”

The latest Rasmussen poll of New Hampshire primary voters: Mitt Romney 42%, Ron Paul 18%, Rick Santorum 13% and Jon Huntsman 12%. If Huntsman gets 12% in New Hampshire, I’ll be shocked beyond words.

And now, I’ve got to hit the road with Pete Da Tech Guy to the Hillsborough County GOP dinner at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, where Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum will speak tonight. Hit the freaking tip jar!

Yes, it’s great to see the younglings excited over liberty. I just hope they don’t become jaundiced from having unreasonable expectations.

Yes, I can see why hop-heads and kiddie porn fans would get excited about the prospects of a Ron Paul presidency. Almost as giddy as the Iranian mullahs.

Leaving aside those who can’t tell the difference between libertarian and libertine, there are some serious charges of racism/antisemitism being leveled against Paul by those with serious audiences, like Mark Levin. He would do well to answer those as quickly and conclusively as possible.

He’s answered the charges – several different ways. In the ‘9os, he claimed you had to read the whole article, not just the offensive sentences, to get it “in context.” He directed inquirers about his political beliefs to “read the newsletter I write” regularly.

Now, although it was his own operation and he made a six-figure income from them for years, he claims he not only didn’t write the articles, but had never even read them. Really? Even after he had been called out on them years ago, he didn’t read them?

Believe what you wish.

And Paul’s positions on federal regulation of the internet, pornography, the ages of contract and sexual consent, all add up to a green light for child pornography, which any LEO or prosecutor will tell you cannot be tracked and prosecuted successfully by the states.

Seeing as Pope Ron Paul I is right at 80 years old, is there any rational reason to assume that even if America went completely insane and elected him he’d live long enough to ever be president? I suppose the real Executive (Pope Ron’s running mate) hasn’t shown up yet.

A critic once sescribed Harlan Ellison as a writer young folks reead on their way to discovering serious writers. I suspect the cartoony Ron Paul is the same for young voters

Reminds me of a hilarious B. Kliban cartoon I once saw. You see coming toward you an old guy with a few young admirers, and going away from you, another old guy with a few young admirers of his own. The two old guys are looking directly at each other.

Increasing the level of scoffing isn’t going to help solve the question of why these people are so enthusiastic (not all of them are “insane, Stormfront booger eaters” — it does no good to label them all as such). I believe it is one of the clues to how conservatism takes back the goodwill of the American public, and how the GOP leads that movement. People have noticed this and pointed it out on many occasions.

But of course, mockery and marginalizing are much easier and require less thought…

I don’t think regular GOP people have realized the damage already done. I will never vote for another Republican again. I only see the Bankster Party and the American people as my new paradigm. This is coming from a person who once received the Limbaugh Letter for her sweet sixteen.

A Fox News Cincinnati report that claims a man named James B Powell probably wrote the letters, a conclusion that seems based on an actual journalistic effort. The national media has no interest in that story, apparently.

Every candidate on the stage, including Cain has been called racist and most have been attacked as anti-semite too. The fact that Levin is singling out Paul really means he’s at odds with Paul’s foreign policy and isn’t above avoiding issues, instead using race and religion to divide the party, and therefore setting the stage to lose yet another election while simultaneously holding himself blameless in the debacle.

Substituting fact with opinion and juevenile name-calling in lieu of substantial debate are traits that the Irving Kristol neoconservatives brought to the party with them, and the party is suffering internally as a result. .

The Mark Levins of the waves, entertainers by trade, are afforded the bully pulpit, never required to defend their assertions. (If you repeat a lie often enough, it becomes the truth, because Mark Levin said so…)
The newsletters aren’t an example of that, because Paul’s name was on them. However, he wasn’t in Congress, and was running his medical practice, so his contention that he was licensing his name to a group that shared his economic principles is backed up by the timeline.

But I encourage you to look at Levin’s attacks on Tom Woods, who backs up his historical assertions with documentation. Despite Woods’ repeated requests for an opportunity to debate their differences one-on-one, Levin only name calls, essentially saying “I’m right because I said so.”

The last “old” President we had was Reagan.

Speaking of the Pope, Michelangelo didn’t even begin working on the Basilica until he was 71, and was still at it when he died at age 89.

So what you just said is that we should totally ignore the constitution. If it’s true that the Federal Government needs to assume even more control of our lives, then perhaps amending the constitution is the legal way to do that?

I know, I know, crazy talk. We need to federal government to keep us safe. Because they say so.

Another point on Levin:
One of the wealthiest backers of his Landmark Legal Foundation is one Richard Schaife, heir to the Mellon fortune and heavily invested in the workings of American interventionism. So it would almost make sense that Levin do the bidding of his biggest patron.

And that’s just one reason I would never support Ron Paul in or out of the GOP. Paul supporters support Paul, Paul, and nobody but Paul. Why should a traditional GOP supporter support him when he will not only not support them but has made it clear he and his followers will do anything they can to derail any other GOP candidate?

I don’t call them all Booger-Eaters, I reserve that mainly for the 9/11 conspiracy nuts in particular, and generally for the Tards that spam polls and comments sections with false “facts”, threats, and actions such as reporting my friend Zilla to Facebook to have her page shut down for posting against Paul, as she has a right to do. The Stormfront, KKK types may or may not be booger-eaters, but they’re all damn sure nasty pieces of work and don’t do anything to endear one to the Paul campaign.

Come on, you have made those generalized remarks without the disclaimer before — and you shouldn’t have.

The nasty pieces of work ARE something that Paul and his supporters need to address; that is a definite. However, perhaps they would feel more free to address this problem if others wouldn’t resort to lumping them all in the same category and snarking at them at every turn? I should think encouraging them to do this might glean better results?

Paul’s not my guy, nor do I support the libertarians in every instance, but some of the things he and his supporters hold as their platform make sense and are worthy of consideration and perhaps implementation. Writing it all off is a mistake on many levels.

Do you think that maybe a good way for him to do that would be by not meeting in public venues with known white supremacists, to say nothing of gladly accepting their money and their endorsement? Yes, he needs to do something; his supporters need to do something to distance themselves from these things — it does not help support the good things they do talk about.

Although it would appear that is now a moot point, because by your reaaction to my response it is becoming apparent many would not listen to even the good ideas as they are so fixated on the bad.

Shoving them to the margins it is then; have fun with that mistake.
