Our Moral Superiors So Seldom Condescend to Address Us Directly

Sara Alcid: Infinitely superior to the typical American.

“And now apparently shocked at the ‘intimidation’ of being quoted on the Internet, Ms. Alcid has protected her tweets — a victim, no doubt, of ‘patriarchal oppression.'”
Donald Douglas, American Power

Recently, I began referring to liberals as Our Moral Superiors, because that’s who they think they are. If you’ve ever read Thomas Sowell’s The Vision of the Anointed, you understand that their policies are an expression of moral narcissism: By advocating liberalism, they demonstrate to themselves how much better they are than everyone else, and they expect to be admired for this.

Who could possibly be more superior than a Queer Feminist like Sara Alcid, who attended prestigious Bryn Mawr College (undergraduate tuition $42,870 a year), had the honor of associating with leading queer-theory feminist author Judith Butler — superstar“! — and then became a programs and policy associate of the Reproductive Health Technologies Project, and a writer for Everyday Feminism, warning against the evils of traditional Valentine’s Day celebrations — heteronormativity, gender roles and systems of domination, you know.

Is it correct to say that Sara Alcid hates everything we hold dear? Wouldn’t it be more accurate to call her attitude contempt?

We are so far beneath her, she can’t even notice us enough to hate us.

Perhaps you see why, when this eminent young alumna of elite Bryn Mawr took time from her busy day to call me “disgusting,” I decided to reply with a little bit more than 140 characters.

Sara Alcid is better than you, because she’s a Queer Feminist who attended a prestigious college, and you’re not. She is so much better than you that you can’t even comprehend her vast superiority, her erudition, her knowledge of advanced philosophies that only the most sophisticated minds can ever hope to understand. You are just an ignorant, inarticulate, hate-filled bigot — a typical American — and you are so insignificant that Sara Alcid can’t be bothered to notice.

Every day, Sarah Alcid and her Queer Feminist friends “work to critique and dismantle” those “systems of domination” — religion, marriage, family, free enterprise — that the typical American loves. They claim to do this in the name of “equality,” but what they’re actually doing is demonstrating their own superiority, their authority to take away from you everything that you hold dear and thus to arrogate to themselves complete power over you.

Sarah Alcid deserves this authority. Sarah Alcid is entitled to this power.

You deserve nothing and you have no rights, and if you dare to speak back to Sarah Alcid, this just proves you’re a hater.

Last night, Sarah Alcid switched her Twitter account to “protected” status, so  that no one who disagrees with her can see her messages.

Was it as good for you as it was for me, Sara?

UPDATE: Sara Alcid has now unprotected her Twitter account and, as Badger Pundit chronicles, her friends are telling her to report me to the FBI, because disagreeing with a feminist — “How dare you!” — is obviously some sort of hate crime.

True, but adoption doesn’t pass on her genes, and artificial insemination seems a remote possibility for an abortion enthusiast like this one.

But it never has and never will.

The problem with you Leftists is that you insist upon imposing fantastical ideas developed in the sterile laboratories of your own minds on the rest of us. And, in every single case this has happened, misery and death have followed.

Human beings are what they are. You can try to re-engineer them and you will fail every time, and, because that upsets your precious plans, you will have to murder them in order to protect the glass house of dreams you have carefully constructed.

    The Eschaton cannot be Immanentized.

Perhaps many post college students haven’t lost their faith in the rest of humanity.

Oh no, they have. They merely think that if only they were in charge and everyone merely did as they dictated, then we’d have utopia in no time. You know, the same thing that happened in Germany, Russia, China, North Korea, Vietnam…

Perhaps they expect debates to be about ideals, not about personalities.

They might want to start looking inward, then, because feminism begins and ends with rampant personality cults. The long-disproved bad ideas are merely window dressing.

Perhaps they expect others to respect them as human beings, if not for their opinions. Perhaps they believe that somewhere, someone wants to have discussions, not air their political laundry.

    O physician, heal thyself.

And yes, this is naive. This is not the way the world works. But wouldn’t we all be happier if it did?

It will, one day, but not through our efforts at bossing people around into the “correct” behavior. It certainly won’t be on account of bad ideas on a road paved with bodies.

  26. La Pucelle
    August 14th, 2013 @ 12:32 am

It’s ranked 26th for liberal arts colleges, which…isn’t really all that impressive. Colgate, Washington & Lee, and the Naval Academy rank much higher, probably because their education isn’t softball.

Always “plotting”. Feminists always have to be enthralled in “struggle”, don’t they? It’s really no surprise that most of them probably claim to be Socialist as well (hey what a coincidence, Socialist Feminists engaged in struggle, how unoriginal.).

Facebook is where my elder little sister decided to call me delusional and mentally unstable, in public, then block me from replying, and to this day, 4 years later, she has no idea what she did to upset me (and why I won’t talk to her anymore). For that matter she feels that I am at fault, because I made her “nice” friends cry, by simply stating a commonly held political/moral position, without even attacking anyone (they just decided to wear the shoe that fit I guess).
But in that you can block anyone on Facebook you don’t want to hear from so that it is just a nice little echo chamber, I suppose you can call it basically friendly.

  39. scarymatt
    August 14th, 2013 @ 9:38 am

Yes. Also, the sort of people we’re dealing with don’t associate with people who aren’t members of their echo chamber. And once the people are blocked, you don’t have to think about it anymore.

I’m sick of all of you and I’m sick to death of the laws and regulations you use to limit my personal freedom in the name of your ‘moral superiority.’

Slutwalk? Yeah, I lost a friend or two over that idiocy.

Yes ladies you should, theoretically, in a perfect world, be allowed to stagger drunk and naked down a dark alley at 3 AM unmolested in any fashion.

And I should be allowed to walk down that same alley at 3 AM in my suit made of $100 bills without losing a penny to thieves.

If I try this, do you castigate the evil violent thief/mugger culture that robbed me? Or do you perhaps think “what an idiot, walking down an alley in that area of town covered in money, he’s lucky to be alive”?

It’s the same thing. We agree on the “perfect world” ideal; but we’re not there. And I don’t wear my fancy money-suit to poor areas in the middle of the night because that is in fact putting me at increased risk of harm.

If people give me advice on how to lessen that chance of being a victim of crimes I know exist; I thank them, I don’t blame them for letting the crime exist.

My money suit looks AWESOME by the way… sad I don’t get to wear it more.
