Our Moral Superiors So Seldom Condescend to Address Us Directly

Sara Alcid: Infinitely superior to the typical American.

“And now apparently shocked at the ‘intimidation’ of being quoted on the Internet, Ms. Alcid has protected her tweets — a victim, no doubt, of ‘patriarchal oppression.'”
— Donald Douglas, American Power

Recently, I began referring to liberals as Our Moral Superiors, because that’s who they think they are. If you’ve ever read Thomas Sowell’s The Vision of the Anointed, you understand that their policies are an expression of moral narcissism: By advocating liberalism, they demonstrate to themselves how much better they are than everyone else, and they expect to be admired for this.

Who could possibly be more superior than a Queer Feminist like Sara Alcid, who attended prestigious Bryn Mawr College (undergraduate tuition $42,870 a year), had the honor of associating with leading queer-theory feminist author Judith Butler — “superstar“! — and then became a programs and policy associate of the Reproductive Health Technologies Project, and a writer for Everyday Feminism, warning against the evils of traditional Valentine’s Day celebrations — heteronormativity, gender roles and systems of domination, you know.

Is it correct to say that Sara Alcid hates everything we hold dear? Wouldn’t it be more accurate to call her attitude contempt?

We are so far beneath her, she can’t even notice us enough to hate us.

Perhaps you see why, when this eminent young alumna of elite Bryn Mawr took time from her busy day to call me “disgusting,” I decided to reply with a little bit more than 140 characters.

Sara Alcid is better than you, because she’s a Queer Feminist who attended a prestigious college, and you’re not. She is so much better than you that you can’t even comprehend her vast superiority, her erudition, her knowledge of advanced philosophies that only the most sophisticated minds can ever hope to understand. You are just an ignorant, inarticulate, hate-filled bigot — a typical American — and you are so insignificant that Sara Alcid can’t be bothered to notice.

Every day, Sarah Alcid and her Queer Feminist friends “work to critique and dismantle” those “systems of domination” — religion, marriage, family, free enterprise — that the typical American loves. They claim to do this in the name of “equality,” but what they’re actually doing is demonstrating their own superiority, their authority to take away from you everything that you hold dear and thus to arrogate to themselves complete power over you.

Sarah Alcid deserves this authority. Sarah Alcid is entitled to this power.

You deserve nothing and you have no rights, and if you dare to speak back to Sarah Alcid, this just proves you’re a hater.

Last night, Sarah Alcid switched her Twitter account to “protected” status, so  that no one who disagrees with her can see her messages.

Was it as good for you as it was for me, Sara?

UPDATE: Sara Alcid has now unprotected her Twitter account and, as Badger Pundit chronicles, her friends are telling her to report me to the FBI, because disagreeing with a feminist — “How dare you!” — is obviously some sort of hate crime.

  1. Have the new modern feminists taken up Margret Sanger’s eugenics project? Do they want black babies killed?

  2. Bless her heart! She displays the typical tolerance of the left and those who disagree with her are haters etc… I feel pity for her and her ilk. It must be a miserable life.

  3. It’s Welsh, means “big hill” and takes its name from a (Welsh) Quaker who settled there in the 1600s. The College is named after the town. (I used to live 2 blocks away from it.)

  4. I’ve never protected my twitter feed, but presumably that would give one the opportunity to delete some of the “not really meant for the general public” tweets during the ‘dark’ period, safe from prying, non-fellow-traveller eyes. And then unprotect the newly-sanitized version.

  5. Why yes, yes, they do. Why do you think the Dems push PP in the ‘hood, and do nothing about black on black violence while trying to import millions of biddable Hispanics to supplant those troublesome persons of color? They’re engineering a new perpetual underclass.

  6. I don’t get how a “Byrn Mawr Educated” feminist could still be so stupid as to think that replying to the voices in her head is the same thing as addressing the actual, posted words of someone with whom they are trying to disagree.

(Well, I “get it,” but I just wrote that for cheesy effect.)

  7. Wait a minute, I just looked. her background. She thinks of herself as a vagina? WTF?

I would think a feminist would think the most important part of herself is her brain.

Of course we all know its really her boobs. (wink wink nudge nudge)

  8. I don’t get how you guys can manage to write entire articles.

The best I’ve ever been able to accomplish is getting nearly to the

  9. We seek consensus through a process of dialogue among diverse
communities about technological developments and their global
implications. And if that doesn’t work we’ll turn their asses in to the FBI.

    Charming group.

  10. Reminds me, I humbly (as if) request you find a place to put a link on the front page to TOM’s reading list. You drop references frequently that I forget to go back and look up. (So obviously it’s your responsibility to help me or something.)

  11. ”Shocked by how closely people’s reactions to me being harassed online
echoes rape culture narratives ‘Don’t provoke him — be safe.’”

Which begs the question. Is McCain’s writing a blog post like rape rape? Maybe like a rape where the woman ends up bloody and the “man” is suggesting she put some ice on that? Or maybe it’s like statutory rape, where a gender studies student might make it with a 14 year old junior high student and become cause celebre among low information gender studies types? So many different types of rape to choose from. Maybe our little darling will elaborate?

  12. I used to think the zombie apocalypse was a quaint right wing affectation that the left enjoyed calling us out on. I’ve now come to the conclusion that the zombie apocalypse is real.

The (already) brain dead liberals are after our brains.

  13. True dat.

But only if they are two or more attractive lesbian feminists.

If either are in any way unattractive its still bad gay.

  14. You know, McCain…I think this chick might just kill you. That Hall & Oats song may have been a bridge too far.

  15. It is one of the most respected women’s colleges in the world, as well as one of the top ranked colleges in America.

  16. While you’re right that many college students expect confrontations to be less vitriolic that they in fact are, I’d attribute it to a different cause.

Perhaps many post college students haven’t lost their faith in the rest of humanity. Perhaps they expect debates to be about ideals, not about personalities. Perhaps they expect others to respect them as human beings, if not for their opinions. Perhaps they believe that somewhere, someone wants to have discussions, not air their political laundry.

And yes, this is naive. This is not the way the world works. But wouldn’t we all be happier if it did?
