Can We Just Have the Air Force Drop Cable TV News Anchors on Syria?

Posted on | September 3, 2013 | 115 Comments

At this moment, John Kerry is on TV demanding that the United States must now involve itself in the Syrian civil war.

No sane person is in favor of this.

John McCain is in favor of this.

I rest my case.

Having made up my mind weeks ago that U.S. involvement in Syria is bad policy, I’m bored to tears by this “debate,” knowing that when this noise is over, Congress will vote against involvement.

Or maybe they’ve all gone crazy.

Cable TV news networks won’t shut up about it, so I’m obligated to blog about Syria, but no one can force me to take it seriously.

I agree. I think that the Congress, with the happy belief that “nobody will REALLY get hurt”, will vote to “preserve America’s credibility” and “take firm action against a monstrous, evil dictator”. In other words, we’ll lob in a few cruise missiles, declare victory, and everything will go on as it has. If Baby Assad (or whoever) gasses some more people… well… we tried. “A” for effort, you know.

Let’s just hope that it ends there, and that the Russians and Chinese don’t get too angry at the ineffectual, nonsensical words and deeds of the swaggering cowboy-wannabe in the White House.

Only Gurkhas regard 500 feet as survivable. So I think a thousand feet would work fine. The splatter would be pretty ugly, but….

He can’t even swagger. He sort of skulks.

God, but I miss Bush. He may have been wrong, but he had some guts.

How many games of spades do you suppose he can fit in while waiting for Congress to make this gutsy call?

“Let’s just hope that it ends there…..” From your keyboard to His ears friend, but, I doubt it. It if does go, and I too believe that Congress is going to sanction this idiocy, I think Russia and the ChiComs will see it as the invitation they’ve been waiting for to “engage” the US in an all-out conflagration. But I pray fervently that I’m wrong.

And of course, no one will realize there’s been a Constitutional crisis, in that the executive has backed the legislative into a corner, necessitating ratification or losing face. This will only embolden O to behave as if the constitution doesn’t exist. Better to bring it to a head now, and let’s see what he intends to do.

Over on Ace’s site, someone pointed out that Obama is going to gesture us into a nuclear exchange. I think that’s a very astute observation.

    I don’t care about “face.”

We lack a plan, a policy and appear to be shy a clearly articulated principle. There is no way in hell we ought to stir one finger in Syria’s direction. We need some sort of clue before we act.

Oh, and, someone hand me the clue-bat. I’m having a baby harp seal moment.

And he married a wealthy heiress.

But fathering Meghan, now, that’s a crime against Humanity.

How fitting that a Nobel Peace Prize Laureate causes the first hostile military use of nuclear weapons since 1945. Only Kennedy came closer with his Cuban blockade.

I believe Netanyahu pointed out the other day that the problem is chemical weapons in Syria, not who used them. In other words, we should be going after the chemical weapons, not rapping Assad’s knuckles. If Assad looses control of them, they could start popping up around the rest of the world.

I suppose that, if I could fondle her fun bags without listening to Meghan’s brainless yapping, and staring into her vapid eyes, I would. Needs must when the demon drives.

But the fact remains that this pair of boobs are attached to a modern “educated” boob with all the common sense of a spent uranium rod, and with the same reasons not to handle her sans extreme protective measures. Taking her as a single package, I would rather boff an enraged bull while surrounded by hungry, horny wolves.
