The Worst President Ever

Ace of Spades on Monday’s presidential press conference:

A man who keeps offering the same empty answers — “allies have to step up,” “a warped ideology on the wrong side of history,” “contrary to our values,” etc. — cannot complain this petulantly about being asked the same questions. . . .
He is the apotheosis of progressivism, the avatar and godling that is the living embodiment of all their cowardices, lies, hypocrisies, self-flatteries, and stupidities.
One self-flattery they’re fond of is claiming they have “evidence-based” reasoning, not ideology-based reasoning, and that their minds are supple things that readily incorporate new information and plot new strategies accordingly.
Obama is the ultimate exemplar of this fiction. He claims that he’s always interested in “whatever works” and he’s constantly engaging in high-level cognition about the world, and yet no matter what the news, no matter how badly his strategies and ideological priors have been shown to fail, he clings to them with the devotion of a child to his woobie.

You can read the whole thing. I generally refrain from commenting about things President Obama says, because I generally cannot stand to listen to what he says. But yesterday, I had my office TV on CNN during that press conference and heard enough of it to become irritated by the way he simply asserted that his policy is the only feasible and pragmatic policy, contrasting it with straw-man alternatives. If you believe Obama (and of course, I don’t mean to insult my readers by implying that any of you are stupid enough to believe Obama) every serious military strategist on the planet approves of his policy, as opposed to the Obviously Wrong Policies favored by those Crude and Clumsy Warmongers in the Republican Party. We are expected to believe that the choices are either (a) do exactly what Obama is doing, or (b) it’s back to the Neocon Cowboy days, with a Bush-type massive invasion/occupation thing like the Iraq war. Basically, it was a campaign speech of the kind Obama might have given to an audience of college students in 2007.

What is being ignored, of course, is that the current situation with ISIS is a direct result of the 2011 “Arab Spring” uprising that the Obama administration orchestrated as surely as the Kennedy administration orchestrated the assassination of Ngo Dinh Diem in 1963. Is there anyone so stupid as to believe that there could have been simultaneous rebellions against the governments of Libya, Egypt, Syria, etc., without the CIA (and Hillary Clinton’s State Department) working behind the scenes to make it happen? This is not a paranoid conspiracy theory. The Obama administration was quite open in its support of the “Arab Spring,” and all I’m saying (beyond what is already public knowledge) is that U.S. covert agencies operated in that situation the way U.S. covert agencies normally operate. The 1953 coup in Iran, the 1954 coup in Guatemala, the 1961 Bay of Pigs invasion — there is a long history of such clandestine operations, and if you think Obama and Hillary wouldn’t use the CIA to overthrow governments they disliked (which is what the “Arab Spring” was really about) you are hopelessly naïve.

Once we recognize the “Arab Spring” as a U.S. policy initiative (rather than buying into the media-manufactured myth of “spontaneous” uprisings in several different countries), then we also recognize that the Obama’s avowed desire to topple the Assad regime in Syria led them to discount the danger posed by Islamic extremists in Syria, which is how ISIS became the serious menace that it now is. But this interpretation of events, as obvious as it seems to me, never gets mentioned when discussing how ISIS — a rather obscure Iraqi militant force prior to 2011 — has emerged as the world’s most dangerous Islamic terrorist group.

Obama’s Middle East policy is a catastrophic failure, and for him to defend it as if it were successful — and imply that there is no feasible alternative — is an infuriating insult. Anyway, now you see why I generally refrain from commenting on what Obama says.

Reminds me of the early 1940’s, when Germany and Japan wanted war and we were foolish enough to fall for it. And remember how, by playing along with what they wanted we essentially abdicated the moral high ground? Then, by “winning” we lost by becoming just like the Nazis.

Never again, declare Deep Thinkers such as Sally Kohn. Wonder if she’d look as stupid in a burqa as she does out of one? At least we would be spared her yammering under the Caliphate.

I suggest that lefties fundamentally think that the jihadis (and the crying snowflakes at Mizzou, the rioters in Baltimore, &c.) are justified in their righteous anger, and therefore don’t want to fight. However, they know that the rest of us don’t support such craziness, so they have to try to make it look good.

That’s all I can come up with, outside of genuine mental illness.

So I’m guessing that the ” Our opposition has come up with ZERO alternatives!” lie has gone the same path as “We” NEED to pass it just to see what’s IN it, and “Well. TECHNICALLY not illegal…”.

SJWs literally don’t even value their own babies’ lives, so how could they value anyone else’s? And Muslims are infamously cheap with their own lives. So Muslims blow themselves up and SJWs worry about backlash.

Our enemies are in happy agreement that their disputes with each other are purely ideological, and no one’s lives matter (unless a straight white male can be blamed).

Nice remarks by Ace. Ironically it is things like Oberlin’s dept. of diversity studies that got him elected and for whom Obama is point man for. Both take a proverbial Jim Crow county in Alabama circa 1920 and smear it all over the world and its history with women-hatred thrown in for good measure. A further irony is many of these ideological alliances would marginalize each other out of existence had they the means to. There is nothing funnier or more pitiful than to see middle class white professional men take up the cause of anti-white, anti-male political lesbianism and gender abolition. Guess who’s public enemy no. 1 there? White straight males, marriage, family and the West.

I saw the guys on the Sorted Food youtube channel make a durian cheesecake, and all of them except Ben – the chef – were gagging over the smell.

So yeah, I’d say that’s an appropriate description of #OccupyResoluteDesk.

I think that one might be able to argue about our “core values” and what they mean and what we ought to do… lots of people will disagree but there’s room for discussion. What is completely unsupportable or even tangentally related to reality is the fantasy that *our actions* of not being welcoming would drive people fleeing from war and death into the enemy camp. Wow is it ever a popular theme, though… win hearts and minds, don’t be rude to anyone, don’t insult anyone, because then they’ll go with those *other* guys who are so very much nicer and kinder and what… only raped the 14 year old daughter but not the 8 year old or grandma? Only killed their only mule but didn’t kill the people? DID kill their family? Stole their shop, bombed their house, forced a curfew, strung up and gutted the neighbor… if we were tromping through the middle east raping and pillaging I could see how we’d be “creating” new terrorists. But whatever… a microagression is the same thing as violence so no doubt a distrustful look and failure to help is just like public executions and burning a prisoner alive.

Precisely on the Obama/ Clinton invisible hand in the Arab Spring. It sure seems to me that they put serious weaponry in the hands of Al Nusrah, which ended up in the arsenal of ISIS.
It would be irony of ironies if the Russian jet was shot down with a Stinger or Manpad with Obama’s fingerprints on it.
It’s why Bengazi is critical to understand the whole sordid affair. The coverup makes Watergate look like jaywalking.

I’m not sure it is precisely on. Who made a fruit vendor self-immolate in Tunisia? Was that orchestrated by the CIA? Who made Egyptians grumble about President Mubarak grooming his son for a dynasty after 30 yrs. of emergency laws? Who made them sit in front of their TVs and say if Tunisia can do this why can’t we?

The Egyptian students who turned out to be useful idiots for the Muslim Brotherhood were meeting with State Dept. and White House officials in DC before the demonstrations.
The Obama administration and in particular leftist fools like Susan Rice and Samantha Power were deeply involved in promoting the overthrow of Mubarek, Gaddhafi and Assad. Hillary was elated when Gaddhafi fell never mind the hell it loosed all over the Middle East.
Of course there was discontent was in their stupidity and incompetence the White House pushed the “Arab Spring” and they own it.

Leftism is a zero-sum game. Thus, eventually the last remaining groups will be arguing over the scraps, each claiming superior victim status to justify ownership.

First off, I don’t believe such meetings ever happened. Even if they did, is it that easy to overthrow a 30 yr. dictatorship in 18 days? That must have been one of the most effective meetings in the history of all mankind. It’s all so easy: you fly somewhere, have a meeting, and then come back and do something or other.

Here’s a link to Obama shenanigans in Arab Spring http://grandmageri422.me/2015/10/28/did-barack-obama-create-isis-after-failing-to-establish-muslim-brotherhood-in-egypt/
I don’t know nor do you, the involvement of Obama and his miscreants. That they are naïve and anti- America and Israel is plain. Samantha Power has advocated for using US troops to enforce a two state solution in Israel despite Israeli sovereignty.
The Odious Mrs. Clinton , imho, had nothing on her mind but her own record as Secretary of State when she pushed the narrative in Libya.
Mubarek may have been a devil but he was our devil. He maintained peace with Israel, protected the Copts and persecuted the Muslim Brotherhood. If you think the Arab Spring was going to produce Akmal Al Jefferson, you ought to apply for a job in the Obama State Department.

I’m with you on this, the CIA is nowhere near competent enough to overthrow that many governments in that stretch of time. Dictatorships, especially in the Middle East, (where 90% of the countries aren’t even really nation-states), are sitting on top of volcanoes, and those things occasionally blow up.
