Nikki Haley Leads Big

Posted on | June 15, 2010 | 4 Comments

Rasmussen says she’s looking good:

State Representative Nikki Haley is running stronger than her Republican Primary runoff opponent in the general election for South Carolina’s first open gubernatorial race since 1994 . . .
Haley fell just short of 50% support in last Tuesday’s primary race. She and [U.S. Rep. Gresham] Barrett will face off in a runoff election on June 22.

Haley would romp against the Democrat, Vincent Sheheen, 55%-34%. Meanwhile, she is getting endorsed by one of her previous opponents, state attorney general Henry McMaster.

McMaster is the AG and still well-respected. His endorsement seals the deal, so to speak, as the only more potent ones are Republican office-holders like Sanford, DeMint, and Graham who do not endorse in in-state primaries.

SC Republicans look forward to running our Haley-DeMint ticket against the Democrats’ Shaheen-Greene.
