Meet the Real ‘Machine Gun Preacher’

His name is Sam Childers and he runs Angels of East Africa orphanage in Sudan, as well as Shekinah Fellowship Church in Pennsylvania. I assure you that if you actually knew Sam, you wouldn’t be making fun of him.

Among the duties of  the shepherd is the protection of his flock. That was why Christ told the disciples to buy weapons before His death, but when told only two of the 12 had them, said that was enough.

Now, there’s a man who’s actually giving those people hope and change.  What a story.

Wait a minute, you’re not supposed to kill Muslims, and you’re not supposed to go to places like that and risk offending the population by preaching Christianity. The way to help people like this is to have big cocktail parties where you stand around and talk about how horrible it all is and how somebody should do something. Then you donate money, depending on your finances. If you donate fifty thousand you get to rub shoulders with George Clooney. Another fifty thousand and you get to sip a cocktail with Bono. Everybody goes home and after all expenses are paid for they ship fifty crates of rice to the Sudan. Then you deduct the money from your taxes. Then on to the next liberal cause. But really, don’t actually do anything to change things. We need them to make a point, and to make people here think, to teach them life lessons. Those people over there, that’s really no big deal. They’re used to it.

If Christ were to pay us a visit today, I think He would point to Sam Childers and say, “THIS is a man living the Word. Now the rest of you get your freakin’ acts in gear and get busy!”
