‘I Know It’s Not Much, But It’s the Best I Can Do …’

My cousin Pepper Ellis Hagebak’s column in the LaGrange (Ga.) News tells a story about Thanksgiving past. It involves a song.

But, wait — has Pepper never gotten to meet David Lee Roth? Because I think we could probably make that happen. I promised.

Thanks for that story.  It’s a very good one on which to close the Internet connection for some days, spend time with family, and totally ignore the massive fire in the nation’s engine room.

    Yeah, I’m still thankful.

Y’all have a nice Thanksgiving, and I’ll catch you after a nice, long absence.

You obviously inspired her to write beautifully; it’s a lovely story and an enduringly sweet sentiment.

    Ya ol’ softy.
