New Obama Administration Strategy: Make Stuff Up

Via PJ Tatler:

On two different Sunday talking head shows, WH chief of Staff Jack Lew said that it takes 60 votes in the Senate to pass a budget.

Snipping out the quotations:

[Lew] said it twice on different national news shows, so it was no slip of the tongue. The Washington Post and National Review have characterized Lew’s statement as a “misleading” “stumble,” since it’s factually incorrect. Senate rules forbid filibustering a budget, so it only takes 51 votes to pass. Lew has served as the director of the Office of Management and Budget and is currently the chief of staff at the Obama White House. If ignorance is his best defense, it’s an exceedingly poor one. Vice President Biden and President Obama both served in the Senate, Biden for six terms, and Biden is currently the Senate’s president pro tem. He can case tie-breaking votes. But he shouldn’t need to; there are 53 Democrats in the Senate.

One really would like to fall short of the opinion that the Obama Administration really just doesn’t care at all, and they are just phoning it in until the election.

However, the sheer sloppiness on display here makes that increasingly hard to avoid. These clowns are paid from public funds; is it too much to ask that they demonstrate basic competence and integrity? Is it time for an intervention?

More news on the general debacle that is this budget from the Senate Republican Policy Committee, again via PJ Tatler. Just remember that taxes are fun, and this will all go swimmingly.

UUhhh, Smitty, there’s nothing new about it!

Lying is a basic, foundation tenet of Progressivism. Just one example, it comes to mind with all the posting round-about on Sanger.
Read the “Negr0 Project”. Lying was integral to its implementation, and completely impossible without it.

Oh, there’s an ad on TV right now for hER lADYSHIP (lady?), The First Appetite‘s GetMoving program… The ongoing theme is a parent sending the child on a wild goose chase, or some other non-truth ? for their own good, of course ? which ennobles it.

They consider themselves our parents, so naturally lies ? for own own good, of course ? flow like halitosis from their lips!

Lew, of course, was lying to deflect the question of the Senate’s failure to even consider a budget resolution in over 1000 days.  The guy worked as Clinton’s Budget Director when there was a Republican Congress, he knows the rules.

The real scandal here is NOT that Obama Regime toadies lie – that is indeed very old news – but that neither “major network journalist” was willing to call him on a very simple and basic misrepresentation.
