Michigan: Fish Fry Friday

WALLED LAKE, Michigan
Just popped into McDonald’s to upload a few photos quickly, with less than an hour before Rick Santorum is due to appear at the annual Lenten Fish Fry at St. William’s Church here. Just went to the church and the line of people waiting for fish dinners was out the door. There were a couple of TV satellite trucks already on the scene, and the parking lot was full.
Welcome to Walled Lake! It’s a prosperous-looking town.
The menu for the Fish Fry: $9 for a fish dinner may seem like a lot, but considering that it comes with five loaves of bread and two fish and feeds 5,000 people . . ..
This is Annie Patnaude, communication director for the Michigan chapter of Americans For Prosperity, displaying her baby bump. I stopped by the San Marino Club in Troy, scene of tomorrow’s AFP Michigan event, just to make sure I was on the media credentials list. It’s going to be a big event featuring Michelle Malkin, Andrew Breitbart, Rick Santorum and . . .
Well, some guy that can’t fill up a room in Detroit. It’s karma, you see. Remember that the next time you give me the bum’s rush.

As my profile suggests: I want you all to eat fish all the time!

Just posted on Facebook that a prominent blogger was at the St. William Dad’s Club fish fry. My son-in-law’s in the kitchen as he has been for the past several years.

[…] Stacy McCain is at a fish fry tonight in Michigan…at St. William Dads’ Club…and so is Rick Santorum…and throngs of well-wishers with kids (Stacy tells me by phone)….and we have highly tweetable Chris Moody tweets! Woot! Go Rick! […]

Stacy, considering all the times this blog has referenced “Animal House” I just want to know if you had any help moving the signs to redirect the Romney entourage to the empty stadium…

Actually, $9 for a fish fry isn’t bad…ours over here (across the ‘pond’ in Wisconsin) are about that much (at least in the Milwaukee area).

That’s one thing I miss about living in Michigan–the ubiquitous Lenten fish fry. Out here in Colorado, the reaction: “Oh, you’re going to eat healthy! Good for you!”
*Sigh*

Be careful while in Michigan, R.S.: psycho Charles Adkins has literally threatened to shoot you.

“Prominent blogger” is like “pretty feminist,” isn’t it?

Pop for $1.50? Everyone complains about the price of gasoline, no one complains about the price of pop.
