Loved the punchline. Click the image for the whole strip. It brought to mind another punk besides Kimberlin, albeit a punk rocker, Jello Biafra:

Did she (his mother) actually get paid?
As noted by Dianna Deeley in previous threads BK doesn’t appear to get much in salary, who gets the “rent profits” from the non-profits?

    From Ed Barnes at FOX
“In the past three years, Velvet Revolution and Justice Through Music have raised more than $1.5 million. Yet Velvet Revolution hardly seems like a dynamic organization; it has had only 10 new posts in the past six months. And Justice Through Music, despite a voter registration effort that simply includes an online registration form, seems to be little more than a music website that plows through money each year.
Perhaps the most perplexing question on the sites’ tax returns concerns the growing rent payments from the non-profit, which jumped from just below $10,000 in 2006 to more than $80,000 two years later. Given Kimberlin’s history, what really happened to the money is a fair question.”

I’ve heard that people with judgements against them sometimes hide money, or run it to themselves in obscure ways to avoid reported income that might be attached.

Don’t know that is what’s happened here, but you can’t tell from the filings.

So if Mom has a judgement against me, and so do some others, when I come into some money I can pay off Mom, and it really wouldn’t cost me anything if I live in her house and have control over her accounts, does it?

Yet, when the others come looking for their money, I can “Sorry, paid off another creditor instead, she has a judgement just like you, so go pound sand.”

You have to think like a deadbeat and a criminal (me, I’ve had to deal with the like in the past).

I already voted for Zilla – she was the first I knew to mention it.
