Paul supporters have ended up in control of the Iowa, Maine, and Minnesota delegations in the same fashion, and are doing well in Missouri as well.  Public contests should be for delegates.  The RNC should require that states which hold these caucuses and primaries award actual delegates with them, with no more than half their total to be determined by other means.

One way or the other, it’s fine, but don’t deceive voters into believing they are having some real effect on the nomination contest when they aren’t.  Once delegate contests begin, there should be no more straw votes and beauty pageants, the votes should be for delegates.

It appears Ali Ackbar isn’t all he was originally cracked up to be. Our Paul has gone dark for attention he is getting for calling attention to a skeleton Ackbar has in his closet.

I agree with you, but after my experiences in Minnesota, I have to tell you that if a particular candidate’s people don’t show up at the caucuses and district meetings, they’re going to be screwed no matter what the primary vote results were. Them’s the rules; 90% of the game is showing up.

It’s hardly in the closet; Akbar blasted his background and past all over the internet two weeks ago precisely to head this sort of thing off. Now, if Paul doesn’t want to trust Ali or the NBC, that’s fine, and I have no quarrel with him on those grounds, but I don’t hold with him not naming and shaming people who are giving him a hard time about it. The latter are doing us no favors by hassling Paul, and the former likewise by not dragging this out in the open after he brought it up.

I should further note that linking does not constitute endorsement; this looked like news so I linked it.

Not knowing if Ackbar did blast it out I arrived at the conclusion I did. Paul has a problem, and has been given a problem for some reason, and I would wish him to name and shame. However, he’s in a much different position than we are and he may not be at liberty to name and shame.

From my persepctive, linking does not mean you are endorsing something, just calling attention to it. There’s nothing wrong with that.

Just making sure you were aware; some people are kinda fuzzy on the distinction.
